HAWAII EXTENDED FORECAST DISCUSSION
NWS WEATHER PREDICTION CENTER COLLEGE PARK MD
206 AM EST FRI NOV 21 2025

VALID 00Z SAT 22 NOV 2025 - 00Z SAT 29 NOV 2025

THE MAIN SURFACE HIGH IS EXPECTED TO BE POSITIONED NORTHEAST OF
HAWAII FOR FRIDAY AND GOING INTO THE WEEKEND, WITH MAINLY EASTERLY
TRADE WIND FLOW EXPECTED THAT WILL INITIALLY BE BREEZY, AND THEN
WINDS GENERALLY BECOME LIGHTER BY SUNDAY AS THE PRESSURE GRADIENT
LESSENS AS A COL DEVELOPS IN THE SUBTROPICAL HIGH. THERE WILL
LIKELY BE A WEAK INVERTED SURFACE TROUGH NEAR THE STATE THROUGH
THE WEEKEND, WITH PERHAPS SOME AREAS OF ENHANCED SHOWER ACTIVITY
BASED ON THE LATEST MODEL GUIDANCE. THE MODEL GUIDANCE IS
GENERALLY IN GOOD AGREEMENT ON THIS OVERALL SCENARIO.

LOOKING AHEAD TO NEXT WEEK, A RELATIVELY STRONG COLD FRONT
APPROACHES FROM THE NORTHWEST AND MAY AFFECT THE WESTERN ISLANDS
WITH INCREASED PROSPECTS FOR HEAVIER RAINFALL BY THE MIDDLE OF THE
WEEK, WITH SOME TIMING DIFFERENCES IN THE MODEL GUIDANCE.
OTHERWISE, MAINLY TRADE WIND SHOWERS CAN BE EXPECTED MOST DAYS FOR
THE FAVORED TERRAIN.
