SYNOPSIS  
 
THE LAST BIT OF LIGHT SNOW WILL BE MOVING ACROSS THE WEST COAST,  
DROPPING 1 TO 3 INCHES TOTAL IN ACCUMULATION ACROSS THE SEWARD  
PENINSULA. AFTER THIS PASSES, WE WILL BE ENTERING A PERIOD OF  
DRIER WEATHER, AS A SLIGHT RIDGE FROM CANADA BUILDS. GUSTY WINDS  
WILL OCCUR IN DELTA JUNCTION TODAY THROUGH THE WEEK AS THE TANANA  
VALLEY JET PERSISTS. WINDS WILL ALSO BE GUSTY ALONG THE NORTH  
SLOPE AS A HIGH PRESSURE KEEPS THE AREA SEASONABLY CHILLY AND DRY.

- BREEZY IN DELTA JUNCTION WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH AT TIMES  
THROUGH THIS WEEK.  
 
- SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEK  
BEFORE A WARMING TREND THIS WEEKEND.  
 
WEST COAST AND WESTERN INTERIOR...  
- LIGHT TO MODERATE SNOW THROUGH THIS MORNING WITH 1 TO 3 INCHES  
OF ACCUMULATION ACROSS THE SEWARD PENINSULA.  
 
- GUSTY EAST WINDS IN THE HIGHER TERRAIN AND ALONG THE COAST WITH  
PERIODS OF BLOWING SNOW POSSIBLE THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  
 
- GUSTY WINDS IN THE BERING STRAIT FOR THE END OF THE WEEK AND  
INTO THE WEEKEND.  
 
- SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES PERSIST THROUGH THE WEEK  
BEFORE A WARMING TREND THIS WEEKEND.  
 
NORTH SLOPE AND BROOKS RANGE...  
- BLOWING SNOW ALONG THE ARCTIC COAST TODAY BUT THIS WILL SHIFT TO  
THE EASTERN ARCTIC COAST AS WINDS DECREASE.  
 
- SEASONABLY CHILLY WEATHER WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE SINGLE DIGITS  
TO TEENS BELOW 0.  
 
- PRECIPITATION IS NOT EXPECTED IN THE NEAR-TERM.  
 
ANALYSIS AND FORECAST CONFIDENCE...  
HIGH PRESSURE IN THE ARCTIC WILL KEEP THE NORTH SLOPE WINDS FAIRLY  
STRONG THE REST OF THE WEEK. AS THE HIGH PRESSURE MOVES EASTWARD,  
THE STRONGER WINDS WILL AS WELL AND WILL BE LIMITED TO THE  
EASTERN NORTH SLOPE BY THE AFTERNOON TOMORROW AND FAIRLY MINIMAL  
BY THE END OF THE WEEK. THE BERING STRAIT WILL EXPERIENCE GUSTY  
WINDS BEGINNING EARLY FRIDAY DUE TO A LOW PRESSURE ALONG THE  
ALEUTIAN ISLANDS TIGHTENING THE GRADIENT. THE TANANA VALLEY JET  
WILL BE IN FULL SWING FOR MOST OF THE WEEK, CAUSING DELTA JUNCTION  
TO BY GUSTY.  
SNOW WILL BE SLOWLY MOVING OFF THE WEST COAST AND WILL MOSTLY BE  
OFF THE COAST BY TOMORROW. PERIODS OF BLOWING SNOW ARE EXPECTED AS  
THE SNOW PASSES, BUT IT WON'T LAST LONG. BLOWING SNOW IS ALSO  
EXPECTED ON THE NORTH SLOPE FOR THE DAY TODAY AND WILL BE SHIFTING  
TOWARDS THE EASTERN NORTH SLOPE THROUGH THE WEEK WITH THE WINDS.  
GENERALLY BLENDED MORE TO THE NBM. THE FORECAST REMAINS ON TRACK  
FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK.  
 
EXTENDED FORECAST DAYS 4-7...  
WEATHER WILL BE QUIET AT THE END OF THE WEEK. SLIGHT CHANCES FOR  
SNOW THIS WEEKEND IS POSSIBLE FOR PORTIONS OF THE SEWARD  
PENINSULA. TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TO BE AROUND OR ABOVE NORMAL  
THIS WEEKEND. AS OF NOW, NO SIGNIFICANT WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR  
THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE.
