A TROPICAL STORM WARNING CONTINUES FOR GUAM, ROTA, TINIAN, AND  
SAIPAN.  
 
A FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF GUAM AND THE NORTHERN  
MARIANAS. PLEASE LISTEN CLOSELY FOR ANY FLOOD WARNINGS THAT MIGHT  
BE IN EFFECT FOR YOUR AREA.

AT 7 PM CHST...THE CENTER OF TROPICAL DEPRESSION 14W WAS LOCATED  
NEAR LATITUDE 12.0N...LONGITUDE 145.4E. THIS WAS ABOUT 110 MILES  
SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF GUAM. STORM MOTION WAS NW, 305 DEGREES, AT  
13 MPH. STORM INTENSITY WAS 35 MPH.  
   
SITUATION OVERVIEW  
 
TD 14W WILL SLOWLY INTENSIFY OVERNIGHT, LIKELY BECOMING A TROPICAL  
STORM AS IT PASSES NEAR GUAM. SHOWERS AND GUSTY WINDS WILL STEADILY  
INCREASE OVER THE ISLANDS LATER THIS EVENING.

TONIGHT. THE ONSET OF GUSTY WINDS AND HEAVY RAINS CAN CAUSE OUTSIDE  
ACTIVITIES TO BECOME DANGEROUS. SECURE LOOSE OUTDOOR OBJECTS WHICH  
CAN BE BLOWN AROUND. IF YOU LIVE IN A METAL ROOF OR CONTAINER HOME,  
LEAVE IT FOR MORE SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER.  
 
 
   
..WINDS  
 
EAST WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WILL INCREASE TO TROPICAL STORM FORCE  
WINDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH OVERNIGHT BEFORE TURNING SOUTHEAST AROUND  
SUNRISE THEN SOUTH SOON AFTER AND DECREASING. STRONGEST WINDS WILL  
BE FELT NEARER THE CENTER OF 14W, WHICH IS CURRENTLY PROJECTED TO  
PASS NEAREST TO GUAM AND ROTA WEDNESDAY MORNING.  
   
..COASTAL INUNDATION AND SURF INFORMATION  
 
SURF WILL QUICKLY BUILD TO HAZARDOUS LEVELS THIS EVENING ALONG EAST  
FACING REEFS, THEN INCREASE ALONG SOUTH FACING REEFS EARLY WEDNESDAY  
MORNING. SURF COULD REACH DANGEROUS LEVELS OF 12 TO 17 BEFORE FINALLY  
SUBSIDING BEGINNING LATE WEDNESDAY. MASSIVE SURF WILL LEAD TO  
INCREASED SHORELINE EROSION AS WELL AS THE POTENTIAL FOR 1 TO 2 FEET  
OF COASTAL INUNDATION.  
   
..INLAND FLOODING  
 
A FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE AREA. HEAVY RAIN WILL  
MOVE BEGIN TO MOVE INTO THE MARIANAS TONIGHT AND PERSIST INTO LATE  
WEDNESDAY. HOWEVER, EVEN AFTER 14W HAS MOVED OUT OF THE MARIANAS AND  
INTO THE PHILIPPINE SEA, A BAND OF HEAVY MONSOON RAINFALL WILL REMAIN  
NEARBY. SEVEN TO 10 INCHES OF RAIN IS POSSIBLE THROUGH THURSDAY.
