FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR MIDDLE TENNESSEE
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NASHVILLE TN
327 AM CDT WED JUN 3 2020

DISCUSSION

THIS MORNING, AN UPPER RIDGE AXIS STRETCHES FROM THE COAST OF GA
NORTHWEST ACROSS THE MID STATE. UPSTREAM, A WEAK WAVE IS SITUATED
OVER AR. AS WE MOVE THROUGH THE DAY, THE RIDGE IS EXPECTED TO BREAK
DOWN BY LATE AFTERNOON. A WEAKENING CAP MAY COME INTO PLAY ACROSS
OUR SOUTH WITH PERHAPS THE DEVELOPMENT OF SOME ISOLATED
THUNDERSTORMS. ON THURSDAY, MID LEVEL TEMPS WILL COOL A BIT AND
SHOWER AND TSTM COVERAGE WILL PICK UP. THE ACTIVE PATTERN WILL
CONTINUE INTO FRIDAY.

IN THE EXT FCST, A COUPLE OF MOSTLY DRY DAYS WILL OCCUR ON SUNDAY AND
MONDAY AFTER A BOUNDARY PUSHES TO OUR SOUTH. THEN, WE WILL NEED TO
WATCH A TROPICAL SYSTEM WHICH WILL BE APPROACHING LOUISIANA. SOME OF
THE RESIDUAL MOISTURE MAY SWEEP OUR WAY BY MID WEEK, BUT THE TROPICAL
SYSTEM LOOKS LIKE IT WILL STAY TO OUR WEST AND NORTH.
