HEAVY RAIN HAS ENDED AND THE SKOKOMISH RIVER WILL CREST THIS  
AFTERNOON THEN SLOWLY RECEDE. THE RIVER WILL REMAIN ABOVE FLOOD  
STAGE THROUGH WEDNESDAY THEN RISE AGAIN ON THURSDAY WITH MORE  
HEAVY RAIN.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
DO NOT DRIVE CARS...VANS...OR TRUCKS THROUGH FLOODED AREAS...THIS IS  
THE CAUSE OF MOST FLOOD RELATED DEATHS IN WASHINGTON. BE ALERT FOR  
RAPID CHANGES AND MONITOR DEVELOPMENTS BY LISTENING TO NOAA WEATHER

THE SKOKOMISH RIVER NEAR POTLATCH  
* UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.  
* AT 11:15 AM TUESDAY THE STAGE WAS 17.6 FEET.  
* FLOOD STAGE IS 16.5 FEET.  
* MODERATE FLOODING IS OCCURRING AND MODERATE FLOODING IS FORECAST.  
THE RIVER WILL FALL INTO MINOR FLOOD STAGE TONIGHT.  
* IMPACT...AT 17.5 FEET, THE SKOKOMISH RIVER WILL CAUSE MODERATE  
FLOODING, WITH DEEP AND QUICK FLOOD WATERS INUNDATING SOME  
RESIDENTIAL AREAS, MANY ROADS, AND MUCH OF THE FARM LAND IN THE  
SKOKOMISH VALLEY. INUNDATED ROADS INCLUDE THE SKOKOMISH VALLEY  
ROAD, BOURGAULT ROAD WEST, PURDY CUTOFF ROAD, AND HIGHWAY 106.
