NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE QUAD CITIES IA IL

MUCH OF EASTERN IOWA, NORTHWEST ILLINOIS, AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI  
SAW MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES, HOT TEMPERATURES, AND HUMID CONDITIONS  
MONDAY EVENING AS A WARM FRONT STRETCHED FROM FROM EASTERN  
NEBRASKA TO FAR SOUTHERN WISCONSIN. SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WERE  
DEVELOPING ALONG THIS FRONT, AND WERE MAINLY FOCUSED ALONG THE  
HIGHWAY 20 CORRIDOR. RAINFALL AMOUNTS FROM THREE QUARTERS TO ONE  
INCH WERE REPORTED FROM DUBUQUE TO FREEPORT. HIGH TEMPERATURES  
RANGED FROM 90 IN DUBUQUE AND INDEPENDENCE, TO 95 IN THE QUAD  
CITIES AND BURLINGTON.  
 
SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION THROUGH  
TONIGHT, AND WILL SLOWLY MOVE SOUTHWARD AS THE FRONT PROGRESSES  
ACROSS EASTERN IOWA AND NORTHWEST ILLINOIS. THE MAIN THREATS FROM  
STORMS WILL BE WIND GUSTS AND TORRENTIAL RAINFALL, WHERE AMOUNTS  
AROUND OR OVER TWO INCHES WILL BE POSSIBLE WHERE STORMS PERSIST.  
LOW TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE MIDDLE 60S ALONG HIGHWAY 20,  
TO MIDDLE 70S OVER NORTHEAST MISSOURI AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS.  
SHOWERS AND STORMS WILL DECREASE IN COVERAGE TUESDAY MORNING, WITH  
MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES EXPECTED THROUGH THE EARLY AFTERNOON. AN  
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE WILL INTERACT WITH THE SOUTHWARD MOVING  
WARM FRONT TUESDAY AFTERNOON, AND WILL SPARK ADDITIONAL SHOWERS  
AND STORMS, ESPECIALLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80. STRONG  
STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE, AND WILL BE CAPABLE OF PRODUCING STRONG  
WINDS AND HAIL. HIGH TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE MIDDLE 70S  
ALONG HIGHWAY 20, TO NEAR 90 OVER NORTHEAST MISSOURI, SOUTHEAST  
IOWA, AND WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS.
