RECORD SETTING WARMTH AND HUMID CONDITIONS WERE FOUND ACROSS THE  
REGION WEDNESDAY EVENING AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT OVER CENTRAL IOWA.  
AHEAD OF THIS FRONT, SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS DEVELOPED ACROSS  
PORTIONS OF EASTERN IOWA, PRODUCING HEAVY RAINFALL, SMALL HAIL AND  
GUSTY WINDS. HIGH TEMPERATURES CLIMBED INTO THE UPPER 80S TO  
MIDDLE 90S, WITH NEW RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES SET IN THE QUAD  
CITIES AND BURLINGTON.  
 
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE REGION  
EARLY TONIGHT AS THE COLD FRONT WEAKENS AND PUSHES EAST OVER THE  
MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY. STRONGER THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE CAPABLE  
OF PRODUCING LARGE HAIL, DAMAGING WINDS, AND HEAVY RAINFALL.  
PATCHY FOG WILL POSSIBLE AFTER MIDNIGHT, ESPECIALLY OVER AREAS  
WITH SATURATED GROUND. LOW TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER  
60S OVER NORTHEAST IOWA, TO LOWER 70S OVER WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS  
AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI. SKIES WILL GRADUALLY CLEAR THURSDAY  
MORNING, GIVING WAY TO PARTLY TO MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES BY THE  
AFTERNOON. WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST AS HIGH  
TEMPERATURES CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 80S TO LOWER 90S.
