TRANQUIL CONDITIONS PREVAILED ACROSS THE REGION DURING THE BULK OF  
THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. THUNDERSTORMS BROUGHT ONE-QUARTER TO ONE-HALF  
INCH OF RAIN ACROSS PORTIONS OF KNOX AND ANTELOPE COUNTIES AROUND  
MIDNIGHT, BUT STORMS DISSIPATED DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS.  
OTHERWISE, ONLY FEW HIGH CLOUDS DRIFTED ACROSS THE REGION.  
TEMPERATURES FELL INTO THE UPPER 60S TO LOWER 70S IN MOST LOCATIONS.  
WINDS WERE FROM FROM THE SOUTH AT SPEEDS FROM 5 TO 10 MPH.  
 
A WARM FRONT WAS DRAPED ACROSS SOUTH DAKOTA, EASTERN NEBRASKA INTO  
EASTERN KANSAS, WHILE A COLD FRONT ARCED ACROSS NORTH DAKOTA INTO  
THE NORTHERN ROCKIES. THESE FRONTAL SYSTEMS WILL MERGE AND DROP  
SOUTHWARD TODAY INTO TONIGHT. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP  
FROM WESTERN MINNESOTA, SOUTHERN SOUTH DAKOTA INTO CENTRAL AND  
WESTERN NEBRASKA BY THIS AFTERNOON. THE FRONTAL SYSTEM AND STORMS  
WILL MAKE SLOW PROGRESS, AND MAY NOT AFFECT NORTHEAST NEBRASKA UNTIL  
THE LATE EVENING HOURS. WESTERN IOWA AND SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA MAY NOT  
EXPERIENCE STORMS UNTIL THE PRE-DAWN HOURS OF WEDNESDAY.  
 
IN ADVANCE OF THE FRONTAL SYSTEM, TEMPERATURES WILL BE HOT AND HUMID  
TODAY. AFTERNOON HIGHS WILL RANGE FROM THE LOWER 90S IN EXTREME  
SOUTHEAST NEBRASKA, TO AROUND 100 ALONG THE NIOBRARA RIVER VALLEY.  
HUMIDITY WILL MAKE CONDITIONS UNCOMFORTABLE THIS AFTERNOON, WITH  
HEAT INDICES FROM 100-107. SOUTHERLY BREEZES MAY BRING SOME RELIEF,  
AS SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE INTO THE 10 TO 20 MPH RANGE, WITH GUSTS  
UP TO 25 MPH.
