FRONT...  
 
AT 1050 PM CDT, DOPPLER RADAR AND AUTOMATED SURFACE OBSERVATIONS  
WERE TRACKING GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS ALONG A COLD FRONT EXTENDING  
FROM NEAR SPALDING, TO NEAR MINDEN, TO 6 MILES WEST OF LOGAN KANSAS,  
MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 35 MPH.  
 
AS THIS FRONT CONTINUES ADVANCING ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTH CENTRAL  
NEBRASKA AND NORTH CENTRAL KANSAS THIS EVENING, A BRIEF SURGE OF  
NORTHWEST WINDS GUSTING INTO THE 30 TO 40 MPH RANGE WILL OCCUR.  
WINDS THIS STRONG ARE UNLIKELY TO LAST MORE THAN 15 TO 30 MINUTES AT  
ANY GIVEN LOCATION, WITH A DECREASE IN SPEEDS AS THE NIGHT GOES ON.  
 
THROUGH MIDNIGHT, LOCATIONS THAT COULD BE AFFECTED BY THESE STRONGER  
WINDS INCLUDE... GRAND ISLAND, HASTINGS, PHILLIPSBURG, AURORA,  
CENTRAL CITY, MINDEN, GREELEY, ST. PAUL, PLAINVILLE, GIBBON, SMITH  
CENTER, STOCKTON, WOOD RIVER, FULLERTON, ALMA, SHELTON, RED CLOUD,  
HARVARD AND GENOA.
