WESTERN PUTNAM...MERCER...HARRISON...WESTERN SULLIVAN AND NORTHERN  
GRUNDY COUNTIES UNTIL 1030 AM CDT...  
 
AT 653 AM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED  
THUNDERSTORMS STILL OCCURRING ACROSS THE ADVISORY AREA. DOPPLER  
RADAR ESTIMATED THAT TWO TO THREE INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN ACROSS  
THIS REGION. ADDITIONAL POCKETS OF HEAVY RAIN IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA  
WILL ALSO MOVE SOUTHEAST INTO THIS REGION THIS MORNING...WHICH WILL  
KEEP DITCHES AND SMALL STREAMS RUNNING HIGH. LOW WATER CROSSING MAY  
ALSO BECOME IMPASSIBLE.  
 
SLOW MOVING THUNDERSTORMS ARE PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAINFALL IN THE  
ADVISORY AREA. RUNOFF FROM THIS EXCESSIVE RAINFALL WILL CAUSE MINOR  
FLOODING TO OCCUR. SOME LOCATIONS THAT MAY EXPERIENCE FLOODING  
INCLUDE...BETHANY...MILAN...CAINSVILLE...EAGLEVILLE...GALT...  
MERCER...NEW HAMPTON...PRINCETON...RIDGEWAY AND SPICKARD.  
 
EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM THIS STORM WILL CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL CREEKS  
AND STREAMS...COUNTRY ROADS...NORMALLY DRY WASHES...AS WELL AS  
FARMLAND ALONG THE BANKS OF CREEKS AND STREAMS.  
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE  
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS  
SAFELY.  
 
IN HILLY TERRAIN...THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF LOW WATER CROSSINGS WHICH  
ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS IN HEAVY RAIN. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TRAVEL  
ACROSS FLOODED ROADS. FIND ALTERNATE ROUTES. IT ONLY TAKES A FEW  
INCHES OF SWIFTLY FLOWING WATER TO CARRY VEHICLES AWAY.
