ILLINOIS...NORTHWEST ILLINOIS...WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS...EAST  
CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST  
MISSOURI.  
   
DAY ONE
 
TODAY AND TONIGHT  
 
THUNDERSTORMS ARE LIKELY OVER THE OUTLOOK AREA THIS AFTERNOON  
AND TONIGHT. A FEW OF THE STORMS MAY BE SEVERE DURING THE  
LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THE PRIMARY THREATS ARE DAMAGING  
WINDS, AND HEAVY RAIN LEADING TO A RISK OF FLASH FLOODING.  
 
A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS IN EFFECT FOR LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND  
TONIGHT NEAR AND SOUTH OF INTERSTATE 80 WHERE THE GREATEST RISK  
FOR WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING IS CURRENTLY  
ANTICIPATED.  
 
VERY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TODAY, WITH AFTERNOON  
HEAT INDEX READINGS TOPPING OUT IN THE 90S TO NEAR 100 DEGREES.  
 
SOME AREA RIVERS ARE EXPERIENCING FLOODING. PLEASE SEE THE LATEST  
FLOOD STATEMENTS AND FLOOD WARNINGS FOR DETAILS.
