...ELEVATED FIRE THREAT FOR YOUNG, STEPHENS AND EASTLAND COUNTIES  
LATER THIS AFTERNOON DUE TO VERY WARM, WINDY, AND DRY  
CONDITIONS...  
 
BREEZY SOUTH WINDS OF 15-25 MPH AND AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WARMING  
TO NEAR 90 DEGREES ARE EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON ACROSS YOUNG,  
STEPHENS, AND EASTLAND COUNTIES. HUMIDITY VALUES WILL FALL BETWEEN  
30%-40%. IN ADDITION, LACK OF RECENT RAINFALL HAS RESULTED IN  
GRADUAL DRYING OF GRASSES AND SMALL VEGETATION ACROSS THIS AREA.  
THE COMBINATION OF ALL THESE ELEMENTS WILL BE FAVORABLE FOR  
POTENTIAL IGNITION AND SPREAD OF GRASSFIRES, DESPITE RECENT GREEN  
UP EARLIER THIS SPRING.  
 
EXTREME CARE IS URGED DURING ALL OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES WHERE THERE  
IS A POTENTIAL FOR GRASS FIRES TO GET STARTED. AVOID OUTSIDE  
BURNING AND WELDING. DO NOT TOSS LIT CIGARETTE BUTTS OUTSIDE.  
REPORT WILD FIRES TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW  
ENFORCEMENT OFFICE QUICKLY.
