NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RIVERTON WY

TWO DISTINCT LINES OF THUNDERSTORMS ROLLED ACROSS WYOMING YESTERDAY.  
ONE AREA FORMED ACROSS WESTERN NATRONA AND JOHNSON COUNTIES AND  
MOVED EAST, WITH THE CASPER AREA ALSO BEING AFFECTED BY THIS  
LINE OF STORMS BETWEEN 6 AND 7 PM. DURING THE SAME TIME, A  
SIMULTANEOUS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS MOVED EAST FROM IDAHO AND  
SURVIVED THE TREK EAST ACROSS THE TETONS AND AFFECTED THE FAR  
WESTERN PORTION OF THE STATE INCLUDING THE JACKSON AREA. THEN THIS  
SAME BAND OF THUNDERSTORMS ALSO SURVIVED THE TREK ACROSS THE  
CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND DELIVERED SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL TO CENTRAL  
WYOMING EAST OF THE DIVIDE, INCLUDING THE TOWNS OF LANDER AND  
RIVERTON.  
 
THE FOLLOWING ARE TOTAL RAINFALL REPORTS FROM THESE STORMS AROUND  
WESTERN AND CENTRAL WYOMING THAT OCCURRED YESTERDAY. OTHER, MORE  
WIDELY SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THIS RAINFALL.
