MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES WERE OBSERVED OVER THE TRI-STATE AREA THROUGH  
EARLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON. WINDS WERE GENERALLY FROM THE SOUTHEAST  
AT 10 TO 15 MPH WITH GUSTS TO 20 MPH. AS OF 1 PM MDT, TEMPERATURES  
RANGED FROM 87 DEGREES IN BURLINGTON, COLORADO TO 94 DEGREES IN  
HILL CITY, KANSAS.  
 
OUTLOOK... ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE  
LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE EARLY EVENING HOURS, MOSTLY ALONG  
AND WEST OF THE COLORADO/KANSAS BORDER. A STRAY STRONG TO SEVERE  
THUNDERSTORM CAN NOT BE RULED OUT AT THIS TIME, AND IF IT OCCURS  
WOULD LIKELY BE NORTH OF THE KANSAS/NEBRASKA BORDER. SOME ISOLATED  
STRONG TO SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE POSSIBLE WEDNESDAY AS WELL  
IN THE LATE AFTERNOON TO EVENING HOURS ACROSS MUCH OF THE TRI-  
STATE AREA.  
 
THE BIGGEST THEME FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS WILL BE UNUSUALLY HOT  
TEMPERATURES WITH HEAT INDICES APPROACHING OR EXCEEDING 105  
DEGREES FOR AREAS ALONG AND EAST OF US HWY 83 IN THE MIDDAY TO  
LATE AFTERNOON HOURS WEDNESDAY, AND POTENTIALLY ON THURSDAY AND  
FRIDAY AS WELL. A HEAT ADVISORY IS CURRENTLY IN EFFECT FROM 12 PM  
MDT TO 6 PM MDT (1 PM CDT TO 7 PM CDT) WEDNESDAY FOR COUNTIES  
ALONG AND EAST OF THE US HWY 83 IN NORTHWEST KANSAS AND SOUTHWEST  
NEBRASKA. ADDITIONAL HEAT ADVISORIES MAY BE NEEDED FOR THURSDAY  
AND FRIDAY AS WELL AS THEY WILL GENERALLY BE HOT, SUNNY DAYS.
