* WHERE...VOLUSIA, BREVARD, INDIAN RIVER, ST. LUCIE, AND MARTIN  
COUNTIES.  
 
* WHEN...FROM 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING THROUGH THIS EVENING.  
 
* IMPACTS...LONGSHORE CURRENTS CAN KNOCK SWIMMERS OFF THE SANDBAR  
INTO DEEPER WATER AND MAKE THEM MORE SUSCEPTIBLE TO RIP  
CURRENTS.  
 
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...SWIM ONLY WITHIN SIGHT OF A LIFEGUARD AND  
NEVER TRY TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST CURRENTS THAT OCCUR AT THE  
BEACHES.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, RELAX AND  
FLOAT. DON'T SWIM AGAINST THE CURRENT. IF ABLE, SWIM IN A  
DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE
