CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST  
MISSOURI.  
   
DAY ONE
 
TODAY AND TONIGHT  
 
A WINTER STORM WATCH IS IN EFFECT BEGINNING TONIGHT THROUGH  
WEDNESDAY MORNING FOR MUCH OF EASTERN IOWA AND NORTHWEST ILLINOIS.  
 
A SLOW MOVING STORM SYSTEM WILL BRING RAIN TO THE AREA TODAY. AS  
TEMPERATURES COOL, A CHANGEOVER TO ALL SNOW IS ANTICIPATED LATE  
TONIGHT WITH UP TO 1 INCH OF ACCUMULATION BY EARLY TUESDAY  
MORNING.  
   
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
 
TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY  
 
FROM TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY MORNING, A WIDESPREAD 4 TO 8 INCHES  
OF WET SNOW IS FORECAST WITH ISOLATED AMOUNTS NEAR 10 INCHES  
POSSIBLE. THE BEST CHANCES FOR 6 OR MORE INCHES OF SNOW ARE IN  
THE COUNTIES ALONG I-80, ESPECIALLY FROM IOWA CITY AND POINTS TO  
THE EAST AND SOUTHEAST.  
 
CONFIDENCE ON SNOWFALL AMOUNTS IN THE WATCH AREA NORTH OF HIGHWAY  
30 IS LOW. A SHARP DROP OFF TO LESS THAN 4 INCHES IS POSSIBLE.  
 
THE SNOW SHOULD BECOME WIDESPREAD ON TUESDAY AND TAPER OFF  
WEDNESDAY MORNING. STRONG NORTHEAST TO NORTH WINDS, GUSTING  
BETWEEN 25 TO 35 MPH, WILL LEAD TO BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IN  
OPEN AND RURAL AREAS.
