OZARKS AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST KANSAS.

TODAY AND TONIGHT.  
 
WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED...  
 
LIMITED LIGHTNING RISK.  
SIGNIFICANT EXCESSIVE HEAT RISK.  
 
DISCUSSION...  
 
ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE TODAY AND THIS EVENING  
OVER CENTRAL MISSOURI. CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING WILL BE THE MAIN  
RISK. SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT EXPECTED.  
 
HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CONTINUE TODAY WITH HEAT INDEX VALUES FROM  
AROUND 100 TO 109.  
 
   
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
 
THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.  
 
HEAT AND HUMIDITY WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THURSDAY OR FRIDAY WITH  
DAILY MAXIMUM HEAT INDEX VALUES RANGING FROM 100 TO 110. AN  
EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT  
THURSDAY NIGHT. TEMPERATURES MAY THEN BE SLIGHTLY COOLER THIS  
WEEKEND AS A FRONTAL BOUNDARY APPROACHES FROM THE NORTH.  
 
THAT FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL BRING THE POTENTIAL FOR ISOLATED TO  
SCATTERED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS FROM THURSDAY INTO SATURDAY.  
THERE ARE ALSO LOW CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS NEXT MONDAY. THE  
BEST CHANCES FOR STORMS LOOK TO BE FROM FRIDAY INTO SATURDAY  
MORNING.
