SITUATION OVERVIEW

BETA IS NOW A TROPICAL DEPRESSION WITH MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS OF 35MPH.  
IT IS EXPECTED TO MAINTAIN A SIMILAR STRENGTH TODAY WHILE CONTINUING TO  
DRIFT TOWARD THE EAST-NORTHEAST THROUGH TONIGHT, WHILE THE CENTER STAYS  
OVER LAND. THE SAME GENERAL DIRECTION OF MOTION IS ANTICIPATED WEDNESDAY  
THROUGH FRIDAY, THOUGH WITH SOME INCREASE IN FORWARD SPEED. THIS WILL BRING  
BETA ACROSS EXTREME SOUTHEAST TEXAS AND SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ON WEDNESDAY  
AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT.  
 
WHILE THE WIND THREAT ASSOCIATED WITH TD BETA HAS DIMINISHED, THERE IS  
STILL A SIGNIFICANT FLOODING RAIN THREAT, WITH A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN  
EFFECT. COASTAL FLOODING WILL ALSO CONTINUE TO BE A CONCERN. A TORNADO  
OR TWO CANNOT BE RULED OUT TODAY.  
 
POTENTIAL IMPACTS

* FLOODING RAIN:  
ADDITIONAL IMPACTS FROM FLOODING RAIN ARE STILL A CONCERN ACROSS SOUTHWEST  
LOUISIANA AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS.  
 
* SURGE:  
LITTLE TO NO ADDITIONAL IMPACTS FROM DIRECT STORM SURGE ARE ANTICIPATED AT  
THIS TIME ACROSS SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA AND SOUTHEAST TEXAS. COASTAL FLOODING  
IS ONGOING, HOWEVER.  
 
* WIND:  
LITTLE TO NO IMPACTS ARE ANTICIPATED AT THIS TIME ACROSS SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
