THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL  
ILLINOIS...NORTHWEST ILLINOIS...WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS...EAST  
CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST IOWA...SOUTHEAST IOWA AND NORTHEAST  
MISSOURI.  
   
DAY ONE
 
TODAY AND TONIGHT  
 
THUNDERSTORMS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS THE OUTLOOK AREA THIS MORNING,  
ESPECIALLY NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80. GUSTY WINDS, SMALL HAIL AND  
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL MAY OCCUR WITH THE STRONGER STORM CELLS.  
THE HEAVY RAIN MAY PRODUCE PONDING OF WATER, AS WELL AS URBAN AND  
SMALL STREAM FLOODING ESPECIALLY IN AREAS OF REPEATED STORMS.  
 
THERE WILL BE AT LEAST A LOW CHANCE FOR MORE STRONG STORMS MOVING  
DOWN OUT OF MINNESOTA AND WISCONSIN LATER TONIGHT, AFFECTING  
AREAS MAINLY NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY 30 CORRIDOR. GUSTY WINDS AND  
HEAVY RAIN WOULD BE THE MAIN THREATS FROM ANY STORM THAT MANAGES  
TO MAKE IT DOWN THIS FAR SOUTH. THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK FOR  
SEVERE WEATHER TODAY AND TONIGHT FOR AREAS GENERALLY ALONG AND  
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80.  
 
AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE ENTIRE  
OUTLOOK AREA. HIGH HEAT INDEX READINGS OF 100 TO 110 ARE EXPECTED  
TODAY.  
   
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN
 
FRIDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY  
 
AN EXCESSIVE HEAT WARNING CONTINUES IN EFFECT FOR THE OUTLOOK  
AREA THROUGH SATURDAY. DANGEROUS HEAT INDEX READINGS OF 100 TO  
110 ARE EXPECTED.  
 
THE NEXT MAIN CHANCE FOR THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR LATE SATURDAY  
AND ESPECIALLY SATURDAY NIGHT, AS A COLD FRONT MOVES THROUGH THE  
REGION BRINGING AN END TO THE DANGEROUS HEAT. EARLY INDICATIONS  
ARE THAT STRONG TO SEVERE STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE, AS WELL AS THE  
THREAT FOR HEAVY RAIN AND FLASH FLOODING. MUCH OF THE OUTLOOK  
AREA HAS BEEN PLACED IN A MARGINAL RISK FOR SEVERE WEATHER  
SATURDAY.
