SITUATION OVERVIEW

HURRICANE SALLY WILL CONTINUE MOVING SLOWLY NORTHWESTWARD AND THEN  
NORTHWARD OVER THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO TODAY. THE HURRICANE IS  
EXPECTED TO REMAIN AT CATEGORY ONE STATUS THROUGH TONIGHT UNTIL IT  
MAKES LANDFALL ALONG THE SOUTHWEST ALABAMA COAST WEDNESDAY MORNING.  
SALLY WILL THEN MOVE NORTHEASTWARD ON WEDNESDAY. THE FORECAST TRACK OF  
THE STORM HAS CONTINUED TO SHIFT TO THE EAST AND THE THREAT FOR  
TROPICAL STORM FORCE WINDS HAS DIMINISHED ACROSS LAMAR AND FORREST  
COUNTIES AT THIS TIME, THOUGH WINDS WILL BE GUSTY THROUGH WEDNESDAY.

* FLOODING RAIN:  
ADDITIONAL IMPACTS FROM FLOODING RAIN ARE STILL A CONCERN ACROSS EAST  
CENTRAL AND SOUTHEASTERN MISSISSIPPI. REMAIN WELL GUARDED AGAINST DANGEROUS  
FLOOD WATERS HAVING FURTHER IMPACTS OF SIGNIFICANT POTENTIAL.  
 
ELSEWHERE ACROSS CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI, NORTHEAST LOUISIANA, AND  
EXTREME SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS, LITTLE TO NO IMPACT IS ANTICIPATED.  
 
* WIND:
