WEATHER SUMMARY FOR PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL PLAINS
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HASTINGS NE
633 AM CST THU FEB 27 2020

IT WAS A DRY NIGHT ACROSS OUR COVERAGE AREA. EARLY MORNING
TEMPERATURES WERE MAINLY IN THE 20S...AND CLOUDS WERE ON A GRADUAL
INCREASE...MOVING IN FROM THE NORTHWEST IN ASSOCIATION WITH OUR NEXT
WEAK WEATHER DISTURBANCE. OVERALL...THERE HAS BEEN LITTLE CHANGE IN
THE GENERAL THEME OF THE FORECAST OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS...AS WE
LOOK AT A MOSTLY DRY AND INCREASINGLY-MILD WEATHER PATTERN THROUGH
THE WEEKEND. FOCUSING FIRST ON TODAY...CHANCES FOR AT LEAST
BRIEF...PASSING RAIN OR SNOW SHOWERS APPEAR TO HAVE INCREASED A
TOUCH...ESPECIALLY WITHIN SOUTHERN AND WESTERN PORTIONS OF OUR
AREA...BUT EVEN SO...ANY ACCUMULATION OF RAIN OR SNOW SHOULD BE VERY
MINIMAL...IF ANY AT ALL. DESPITE MORE CLOUDS THAN
YESTERDAY...TEMPERATURES SHOULD CLIMB ABOUT 5 TO 10 DEGREES
HIGHER...TOPPING OUT SOMEWHERE IN THE 40S. IT WILL BE SOMEWHAT
BREEZY...ESPECIALLY THIS AFTERNOON...WITH NORTHWESTERLY GUSTS TO
AROUND 25 MPH. ON FRIDAY...THE WARMING THEME MARCHES ON...WITH
ANOTHER 5 TO 10 DEGREE BUMP BRINGING HIGHS SOLIDLY INTO THE 50S
ACROSS THE AREA. LIKE TODAY...IT WILL AGAIN BE BREEZY FROM THE
NORTHWEST...BUT UNLIKE TODAY...IT LOOKS OUTRIGHT-DRY AND MOSTLY
SUNNY. THIS WEEKEND STILL LOOKS LIKE THE BEST WEATHER OF THE NEXT
WEEK...AS WE CLOSE OUT FEBRUARY AND WELCOME IN MARCH WITH VERY MILD
AND DRY CONDITIONS. SATURDAY LOOKS LIKE THE OVERALL-WARMEST
DAY...WITH HIGHS NOW FORECAST TO SOAR WELL INTO THE 60S AREA-WIDE.
SUNDAY WILL BE A TOUCH COOLER...BUT STILL WELL INTO THE 50S TO LOW
60S. LOOKING INTO NEXT WEEK...FOR SURE IT WILL TURN SOMEWHAT
COOLER...BUT NOT OVERLY-COLD EITHER...AS DAYTIME TEMPERATURES SETTLE
BACK INTO THE 40S TO LOW 50S. CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION DO RETURN
BETWEEN MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY...BUT AT LEAST FOR NOW...THESE CHANCES
ARE NOT ALL THAT HIGH.
