FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL/NORTHERN VERMONT AND
NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
107 PM EDT WED APR 14 2021

..RELATIVELY DRY TODAY WITH RAIN AND SNOW THURSDAY INTO FRIDAY

DISCUSSION

THERE WILL BE ONE MORE DAY TODAY OF RELATIVELY DRY WEATHER WITH
AFTERNOON MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES LOWERING INTO THE 25 TO 35
PERCENT RANGE. THERE MAY BE A FEW SHOWERS ACROSS NORTHERN NEW YORK
THIS AFTERNOON, BUT PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL BE VERY LIGHT.
WIDESPREAD RAIN AND MOUNTAIN SNOW MOVES IN FOR THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
AS A SLOW MOVING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TRACKS JUST TO OUR SOUTH.
TOTAL PRECIPITATION AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM A THIRD TO THREE
QUARTERS OF AN INCH OF RAIN ACROSS THE FAR NORTHERN PORTIONS OF
VERMONT AND NORTHERN NEW YORK AND FROM AN INCH TO INCH AND A HALF
ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN VERMONT. THIS WILL HELP WITH THE
DRYNESS OF THE FINE FUELS AND HELP TO LIMIT FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS
FOR THE END OF THE WEEK. LOOKING AT THE WEEKEND AND EARLY NEXT
WEEK NOT SEEING ANY SIGNIFICANT PERIODS OF DRYING AND THUS FIRE
WEATHER CONCERNS SHOULD REMAIN AT A MINIMUM.
