- A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY ON THE GULF WATERS IS EXPECTED TO EXPIRE  
THIS EVENING, BUT SMALL CRAFT EXERCISE CAUTION CONDITIONS ARE  
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE OVERNIGHT.  
 
- PATCHY FOG DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT STARTING ON NEW  
YEARS EVE. THIS COULD POSSIBLY HAVE AN EFFECT ON LATE NIGHT NEW  
YEAR TRAVEL DEPENDING ON HOW QUICKLY TEMPERATURES COOL AND FOG  
DEVELOPS.  
 
- A WARMING TREND BEGINS TOMORROW WHICH WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE

A WARMING TREND THAT WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK IS EXPECTED  
TO BEGIN TOMORROW, AS MID-TO-UPPER LEVEL RIDGING GAINS A STRONGER  
HOLD OVER DEEP SOUTH TEXAS, SKIES BEGIN TO CLEAR, AND WINDS BEGIN TO  
SHIFT BACK TO A SOUTHEASTERLY DIRECTION. TOMORROW'S HIGH  
TEMPERATURES SHOULD WARM INTO THE LOWER 70S AND CONTINUE WARMING  
UNTIL HIGHS REACH THE MID 80S BY FRIDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES SHOULD  
REMAIN IN THE MID-80S THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF NEXT WEEK AS WARM, DRY  
WEATHER CONTINUES FOR THE AREA.  
 
TONIGHT'S LOW TEMPERATURES WILL GET DOWN INTO THE MID-40S FOR MOST  
OF DEEP SOUTH TEXAS AND POSSIBLY EVEN THE UPPER 30S FOR ARES IN THE  
NORTHERN RANCHLANDS. TOMORROW'S LOW TEMPERATURES WILL STAY IN THE  
40S (BUT PERHAPS BE A FEW DEGREES WARMER THAN TONIGHT), BEFORE MORE  
SIGNIFICANT WARMING TAKES PLACE ON THURSDAY NIGHT WHEN LOWS SHOULD  
WARM TO THE UPPER 50S/LOWER 60S. BY THE WEEKEND, LOWS SHOULD BE  
BACK IN THE LOWER 60S AND STAY THERE THROUGH AT LEAST THE MIDDLE OF  
NEXT WEEK.  
 
NO PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED OVER THE NEXT WEEK, BUT CLEAR SKIES AND  
LIGHT WINDS WILL SUPPORT THE OVERNIGHT POTENTIAL FOR PATCHY FOG  
DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS, BEGINNING ON NEW YEARS EVE.  
GENERALLY, FOG FORMATION IS MOST LIKELY IN THE LATE OVERNIGHT/VERY  
EARLY MORNING HOURS AT TIMES OF PEAK RADIATIONAL COOLING. HOWEVER,  
IF THE TEMPERATURES DECREASE RAPIDLY ENOUGH TOMORROW NIGHT, PATCHY  
FOG COULD FORM (PARTICULARLY IN THE COASTAL COUNTIES) CLOSER TO  
MIDNIGHT, WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY IMPACT LATE-NIGHT NEW YEAR  
TRAVELS. DRIVERS WILL WANT TO EXERCISE CAUTION IF THEY HAPPEN TO  
ENCOUNTER ANY AREAS OF PATCHY FOG.  
 
THERE IS A MODERATE RISK OF LIFE-THREATING RIP CURRENTS AT AREA  
BEACHES OVERNIGHT, BUT SURF CONDITIONS SHOULD IMPROVE TOMORROW AS  
THE WINDS AND WAVE HEIGHTS CONTINUE TO DECREASE.
