..NEW AVIATION

SHORT TERM

(TODAY THROUGH TUESDAY)
ISSUED AT 320 AM CST MON DEC 16 2024

NOT MUCH CHANGE FROM THE PREVIOUS FORECAST ISSUANCE. THERE WILL BE
SOME LOW LEVEL MOISTURE TRAPPED BELOW AN INVERSION, WHICH WILL ALLOW
FOR SOME LOW LEVEL CLOUD DEVELOPMENT ACROSS THE REGION LEADING TO
MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES. CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN THE SAME AS WE HEAD
INTO TUESDAY WITH RELATIVELY DRIER AIR ALOFT WHICH SHOULD ALLOW
FOR LOWER CLOUDS TO HANG AROUND ALONG. FORECAST SOUNDINGS SHOW A
PRETTY FAVORABLE SETUP FOR RADIATION FOG TO DEVELOP AS WINDS
LIGHTEN MONDAY NIGHT INTO TUESDAY MORNING. THIS WILL BE FOCUSED
MAINLY ALONG THE COASTAL BENDS AND VICTORIA CROSSROADS. WE WILL
CONTINUE TO MONITOR THIS IN UPCOMING FORECAST PACKAGES. OTHERWISE,
WE WILL CONTINUE TO EXPERIENCE ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES
THROUGHOUT THE REGION AS 850MB TEMPERATURE REMAIN AROUND THE MAX
FOR CLIMATOLOGY FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR. THIS WILL YIELD HIGHS
GENERALLY AROUND 80 DEGREES THROUGH TOMORROW WITH LOWS IN THE 60S.

LONG TERM

(TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH NEXT SUNDAY)
ISSUED AT 320 AM CST MON DEC 16 2024

KEY MESSAGES:

- WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WEDNESDAY WITH SEASONAL
TEMPERATURES RETURNING WEDNESDAY NIGHT

WELL ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THROUGH WEDNESDAY WITH
HIGHS ABOUT 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL AND LOWS 15 DEGREES ABOVE
NORMAL. BY MID-WEEK, A TROUGH SWINGING ACROSS THE GREAT PLAINS WILL
EJECT A COLD FRONT INTO SOUTH TEXAS. UNFORTUNATELY, THE FRONTAL
PASSAGE IS NOT EXPECTED INTO LATER IN THE DAY, THUS THE WARMER
TEMPERATURES CONTINUING WEDNESDAY. WITH DRIER AND COOLER AIR
FILTERING INTO THE REGION WEDNESDAY NIGHT, NEAR SEASONAL
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO RETURN. ABOVE NORMAL MOISTURE WILL
INTERACT WITH THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WEDNESDAY WHICH WILL PROMOTE A
LOW CHANCE (15-20%) FOR SHOWERS, MAINLY ACROSS THE EASTERN HALF OF
THE CWA. OTHERWISE, DRY CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION.

AVIATION

AFTER THE CLEAR SKIES OVER THE COASTAL BEND THIS MORNING, CLOUDS

THAN STRATOCU TODAY. THE CLOUD COVER WILL REMAIN VFR FOR THE DAY
WITH SOME TEMPO MVFR UNTIL SUNSET, WHEN THE LOWER CLOUDS WILL MOVE
INTO THE REGION AGAIN, BEFORE CLEARING OUT AROUND MIDNIGHT. THE
EXPECTATION IS THAT WITH THE LIGHT WINDS, CLEAR SKIES, AND LOTS OF
LOW LEVEL MOISTURE, FOG WILL AN ISSUE AT VCT AND ALI AS EACH HAVE
FALLEN AROUND VLIFR THE PAST FEW NIGHTS. CRP MAY GET IN ON THIS,
BUT AT THIS POINT ONLY HAVE MVFR VSBYS FOR CRP. THEN AFTER 14Z,
