LATEST VISIBLE SATELLITE IMAGES OVER SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS SHOWING NO  
CLOUDS WITH SUNNY SKIES ALL OVER THE STATE OF TEXAS. TODAY'S HIGHS  
ARE FORECAST TO REACH THE MID TO UPPER 70S ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE  
HILL COUNTRY AND LOWER 80S ELSEWHERE. NORTHWEST TO WEST WINDS AROUND  
5 TO 10 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 10 TO 20 MPH ARE DOMINATING THE LOCAL  
AREA. WIND SPEEDS BECOME LIGHTER TO ABOUT 6 MPH OR LESS THIS  
EVENING. A COLD FRONT IS FORECAST TO PUSH FROM CENTRAL TEXAS TONIGHT  
INTO THE HILL COUNTRY DURING THE LATE OVERNIGHT PERIOD (CLOSER TO  
DAWN). OVERNIGHT LOWS ARE FORECAST TO RANGE FROM THE LOWER 40S  
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN EDWARDS PLATEAU AND WESTERN HILL COUNTRY TO 40S  
AND 50S ALONG AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 35, COASTAL PLAINS AND THE  
SOUTHERN PART OF THE RIO GRANDE.  
 
THE COLD FRONT ABOVE MENTIONED IS FORECAST TO PUSH ACROSS THE HILL  
COUNTRY INCLUDING THE AUSTIN METRO AREA AROUND/BETWEEN 6 AM TO 8 AM  
AND AROUND/BETWEEN 8 AM AND 10 AM OVER THE SAN ANTONIO METRO AREA.  
NORTHERLY WINDS OF 10 TO 20 MPH WITH GUSTS OF 20 TO 30 MPH ARE  
EXPECTED ALONG AND BEHIND THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY FOR MOST OF THE  
MORNING PERIOD. THE DRY FRONT BRINGS COOLER TEMPERATURES ACROSS THE  
LOCAL AREA ALONG WITH LOW HUMIDITY VALUES. WEDNESDAY'S HIGHS ARE  
FORECAST TO RANGE FROM THE MID 60S ACROSS THE SOUTHERN EDWARDS  
PLATEAU AND HILL COUNTRY TO UPPER 60S AND LOWER 70S FOR AREAS ALONG  
AND EAST OF INTERSTATE 35. UPPER 70S ARE LIKELY TO OCCUR ACROSS THE  
SOUTHERN PART OF THE RIO GRANDE. OVERALL, COOLER AND DRY WEATHER  
CONDITIONS ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS. HOWEVER, FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS  
ARE IN PLAY WITH LOW HUMIDITIES DROPPING TO THE TEENS AND LOWER 20S  
OVER THE LOCAL AREA. WINDS ARE FORECAST TO DIMINISH TO 15 MPH OR  
BELOW IN THE AFTERNOON. THERE COULD BE A PERIOD OF A FEW HOURS WHERE  
NEAR CRITICAL FIRE CRITERIA ARE MET OVER SOME LOCATIONS OF THE HILL  
COUNTRY AND SOUTHERN EDWARDS PLATEAU. A FIRE DANGER STATEMENT COULD  
BE ISSUED FOR WEDNESDAY IN FUTURE SHIFTS IF DATA TRENDS CONTINUE.  
 
CLEAR SKIES, LIGHT WINDS AND GOOD RADIATIONAL COOLING IS FORECAST  
FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT/OVERNIGHT WITH OVERNIGHT LOWS IN THE 30S AND  
40S. SOME LOCATIONS COULD REACH THE FREEZING MARK ESPECIALLY  
PROTECTED AREAS ALONG RIVER BANKS AND VALLEYS.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL SETTLE OVER TEXAS FOR THE LATTER PART OF THE WEEK. A  
COOL, DRY AIRMASS WILL SLOWLY MOVE ACROSS TEXAS. WITH THIS DRY AIR,  
CLEAR SKIES, AND LIGHT WINDS TEMPERATURES WILL VARY WIDELY FROM LOW  
TO HIGH THURSDAY THROUGH SATURDAY. WE EXPECT CHILLY MORNINGS, WITH  
LOWS IN THE 40S, AND WARM AFTERNOONS, WITH HIGHS IN THE 70S. SATURDAY  
RETURN FLOW FROM THE GULF WILL BEGIN TO BRING WARMER, MOISTER AIR  
BACK TO OUR CWA. TEMPERATURES WILL CLIMB BACK TO WELL ABOVE NORMAL  
SUNDAY. TEMPERATURES WILL BE WARMER STILL MONDAY AND MAY APPROACH  
RECORD HIGHS. WARM TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE TUESDAY WITH HIGHS MORE  
LIKE LATE SEPTEMBER THAN LATE NOVEMBER.

VFR FLIGHT CONDITIONS CONTINUE THROUGH THE PERIOD. NORTHWEST WINDS  
PERSIST AROUND 5 TO 7 KNOTS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS. A SECONDARY  
AND REINFORCING DRY COLD FRONT THEN ARRIVES OVERNIGHT. AT THE I-35  
SITES (KAUS, KSAT, AND KSSF), WINDS WILL RESPOND BY SHIFTING AND  
INCREASING OUT OF THE NORTH. GUSTS UP TO 25 KNOTS WILL BE POSSIBLE  
FROM EARLY MORNING INTO MID-AFTERNOON WEDNESDAY. WINDS THEN  
SUBSIDE LATE AFTERNOON BEFORE TURNING LIGHT AND VARIABLE WEDNESDAY  
NIGHT BEYOND SUNSET. AT KDRT, WINDS REMAIN BELOW 10 KTS DURING  
THE PERIOD WITH DIRECTIONS OUT OF THE NORTH TO NORTHWEST.
