ISSUED AT 300 AM CST TUE NOV 19 2024

AS OF 3 AM, MUCH QUIETER CONDITIONS HAVE SETTLED INTO THE REGION
WITH THE MIDLEVEL TROUGH, RESPONSIBLE FOR YESTERDAY'S SHOWERS,
NOW ACROSS SOUTHERN MN. MODEST COLD AIR ADVECTION WILL BOTTOM
TEMPERATURES OUT IN THE UPPER 30S ACROSS CENTRAL KS TO THE MID
40S ACROSS SOUTHEAST KS. A RESIDUAL SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT
BEHIND YESTERDAY'S STORM SYSTEM WILL CONTRIBUTE TO NORTHWEST
WIND GUSTS UP TO 25 MPH. CLOUD COVER WILL ONCE AGAIN BE ON THE
INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON AS A SECONDARY MIDLEVEL TROUGH SLIDES
ACROSS THE CENTRAL PLAINS. YESTERDAY'S FRONTAL PASSAGE SWEPT THE
MOIST AIRMASS WELL-SOUTH OF THE FORECAST AREA. DESPITE THE
SUFFICIENT FORCING FOR ASCENT, THE LIMITED AVAILABLE MOISTURE
SHOULD KEEP MOST OF THE, IF NOT THE ENTIRE, FORECAST AREA DRY
THIS AFTERNOON. AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE FROM THE UPPER
40S ACROSS CENTRAL KS TO THE LOW 60S IN SOUTHEAST KS.

FOR WEDNESDAY AND BEYOND, A GRADUAL INCREASE OF MIDLEVEL HEIGHTS
IS EXPECTED WITH SHORTWAVE RIDGING BUILDING ACROSS THE CENTRAL
PLAINS. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN NEAR TO SLIGHTLY BELOW NORMAL
THROUGH WEEKS END WITH HIGHS GENERALLY IN THE LOW TO MID 50S.
MORNING LOWS TONIGHT THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING WILL BOTTOM OUT NEAR
30 EACH MORNING. TEMPERATURES WILL INCREASE THIS WEEKEND AS THE
RIDGE AXIS SLIDES ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA. HIGH TEMPERATURES
WILL RETURN TO THE MID TO UPPER 50S SATURDAY AND SUNDAY. ON THE
HEELS OF THE MIDLEVEL RIDGE AXIS IS PROGGED TO BE A SHORTWAVE
TROUGH LIFTING ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS. THIS SHORTWAVE TROUGH
WILL SHUNT A COLD FRONT THROUGH THE FORECAST AREA LATE SUNDAY
WITH HIGHS REACHING THE UPPER 40S TO LOW 50S MONDAY AFTERNOON. A
PROLONGED PERIOD OF ZONAL FLOW APPEARS POSSIBLE NEXT WEEK WHICH
MAY YIELD MULTIPLE CHANCES FOR PRECIPITATION.
