ISSUED AT 300 AM CST MON DEC 16 2024

A COLD FRONT WAS BISECTING SOUTHEAST KANSAS EARLY THIS MORNING WITH
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS IMPACTING PARTS OF LABETTE COUNTY AND
LOCATIONS SOUTH AND EAST. PATCHY DENSE FOG WAS ALSO OCCURRING IN
PARTS OF THE FLINT HILLS AND SOUTHEAST KANSAS BUT THIS SHOULD BE
RELATIVELY SHORT-LIVED AS DRIER AIR FILTERS SOUTHWARD IN THE WAKE OF
A COLD FRONT. AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES OVER THE AREA THIS AFTERNOON,
SUNNY CONDITIONS AND LIGHT WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO RESULT IN A
PLEASANT DAY WITH HIGHS IN THE 50S FOR MOST AREAS, ALTHOUGH
SOUTHEAST KS MAY SEE HIGHS IN THE LOWER 60S.

BREEZY SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL RETURN TO THE AREA ON TUE AS ANOTHER
PROGRESSIVE SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVES EASTWARD ACROSS THE NORTHERN
PLAINS. ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL PREVAIL WITH HIGHS IN THE
UPPER 50S/AROUND 60 FOR MOST AREAS. THIS SYSTEM WILL DRIVE ANOTHER
COLD FRONT SOUTHWARD LATE IN THE PERIOD USHERING IN MORE SEASONABLE
AIR ACROSS THE AREA ON WED WITH HIGHS IN THE MID AND UPPER 40S.

BREEZY SOUTHERLY WINDS WILL RETURN ON THU ALLOWING TEMPERATURES TO
MODERATE. THIS WILL BE SHORT-LIVED AS ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS PROGGED
TO ARRIVE LATE IN THE PERIOD ON THU USHERING IN MORE SEASONABLE AIR
FRI-SAT WITH HIGHS IN THE 30S AND 40S. MODERATING TEMPERATURES WILL
RETURN LATE IN THE WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK WITH ABOVE
NORMAL VALUES ANTICIPATED.

BOUNDARY PUSHES ITS WAY THROUGH KANSAS. LOW CLOUDS AND DENSE FOG ARE
RESULTING IN LIFR AT CNU AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO FOR THE
