A COLD FRONT HAS USHERED IN MORE SEASONABLE AIR ACROSS THE AREA  
TODAY AND WE COULD SEE SOME STRATUS LINGER OVER PARTS OF SOUTHEAST  
KANSAS, ESPECIALLY THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. AFTERNOON HIGHS WILL  
REMAIN NEAR CLIMATE NORMALS WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MID 40S.  
 
LOW LEVEL SOUTHERLY FLOW WILL RETURN TONIGHT INTO EARLY THURSDAY  
ALLOWING TEMPERATURES TO MODERATE WITH HIGHS IN THE MID AND UPPER  
50S ACROSS THE AREA ON THURSDAY. ANOTHER CLIPPER SYSTEM WILL DRIVE A  
COLD FRONT SOUTH OVER THE AREA LATE IN THE PERIOD ON THURSDAY.  
SEASONABLY COOL CONDITIONS ARE ANTICIPATED ON FRIDAY WITH HIGHS  
STRUGGLING TO CLIMB OUT OF THE 30S FOR MANY AREAS.  
 
SAT-SUN...RISING HEIGHTS AND INCREASING THICKNESS WILL SUPPORT  
RISING TEMPERATURES OVER THE REGION THIS WEEKEND. SEASONABLE  
TEMPERATURES ON EXPECTED ON SATURDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE LOW TO MID  
40S. BY SUNDAY, MOST AREAS WILL SEE HIGHS AROUND 50 AS BREEZY  
SOUTHERLY WINDS RETURN TO THE AREA.  
 
MONDAY-TUESDAY...A SHORTWAVE TROUGH MOVING OVER THE CENTRAL CONUS  
MAY BRING SOME INCREASE IN POPS FOR SOUTHEAST KS LATE MONDAY BUT  
MUCH OF THE AREA IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN DRY. SEASONABLY MILD  
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE PERIOD WITH HIGHS IN THE 50S  
MON-TUE. A QUICK LOOK AHEAD TO CHRISTMAS DAY...MILD CONDITIONS ARE  
EXPECTED TO PERSIST WITH HIGHS IN THE 50S/AROUND 60. AN APPROACHING  
STORM SYSTEM MAY BRING SOME UNSETTLED WEATHER TO THE AREA LATE IN  
THE PERIOD BUT CONFIDENCE IN THE TIMING REMAINS FAIRLY LOW AT THIS  
TIME.

A COLD FRONT PUSHED THROUGH THE STATE WITH NORTHWESTERLY WINDS  
ON THE INCREASE. WIND GUSTS UP TO 38 KT HAVE BEEN NOTED AT RSL  
WITHIN THE LAST HOUR AND GUSTS NEAR 30 KT WILL BE COMMON  
THROUGH THE NIGHT AT ALL SITES. IN ADDITION, A BATCH OF LOW  
STRATUS CURRENTLY ACROSS CENTRAL NE WILL OVERSPREAD EASTERN KS  
TONIGHT. WIND SPEEDS WILL DECREASE TO 10-15 KT CONCURRENTLY WITH  
CIGS SCATTERING BACK TO VFR DURING THE MID TO LATE MORNING  
HOURS. WINDS WILL BECOME LIGHT AND VARIABLE BY MID-AFTERNOON.
