SOME RADIATIONAL FOG COULD TRY TO DEVELOP LATE TONIGHT/THURSDAY
MORNING ACROSS PARTS OF SOUTHEAST KANSAS WHERE RESIDUAL LOW LEVEL
MOISTURE IS BEING PRESERVED BY SLOW ERODING LOW CLOUDS. WARMER AIR
WILL RETURN TO THE REGION ON THURSDAY.

OTHERWISE A FAIRLY QUIET AND MOSTLY DRY WEATHER PATTERN IS EXPECTED
FOR KANSAS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. A FLEET-FOOTED UPPER LEVEL
SYSTEM WILL MOVE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS FOR TONIGHT THROUGH
THURSDAY. THIS WILL CAUSE A POLAR AIRMASS TO SPREAD SOUTHWARD ACROSS
THE HEARTLAND THURSDAY NIGHT INTO FRIDAY IN THE WAKE OF THIS SYSTEM.
BELOW NORMAL DAYTIME HIGHS ARE EXPECTED FOR KANSAS ON FRIDAY
FOLLOWED BY A WARMER TEMPERATURES AS UPPER RIDGING QUICKLY BUILDS
OVER THE REGION FOR THE WEEKEND. MODELS SHOW NEXT UPPER LEVEL WAVE
MOVING ACROSS THE REGION ON MONDAY-TUESDAY WHICH LOOKS TO BRING
MOISTURE NORTHWARD ACROSS TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA. A FEW MODELS ARE
SHOWING THIS MOISTURE MAKING IT FAR ENOUGH TO THE NORTH TO GENERATE
SOME POSSIBLE RAIN SHOWERS MONDAY NIGHT-TUESDAY ACROSS SOUTHEAST
KANSAS. WARM ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES EXPECTED TO CONTINUE FOR
SUNDAY THROUGH MID WEEK.

AVIATION /00Z TAFS THROUGH 00Z FRIDAY/

ISSUED AT 521 PM CST WED DEC 18 2024

VFR CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED TO PREVAIL THROUGH THE END OF THE PERIOD
FOR TERMINALS IN CENTRAL AND SOUTH CENTRAL KANSAS AS HIGH CLOUDS
MAKE THEIR WAY INTO THE AREA. MEANWHILE, MVFR CEILINGS CONTINUE
IN SOUTHEAST KANSAS AS LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE HANGS AROUND THE AREA.

THIS LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL PROVIDE THE POTENTIAL FOR FOG/BR AND
SLIGHTLY REDUCED VISIBILITY IN THE FLINT HILLS ON EAST LATE TONIGHT
INTO THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON THURSDAY. BUFKIT SOUNDING PROFILES
DO NOT SUGGEST A GREAT CHANCE FOR SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED VISIBILITY
AT CNU, SO DECIDED TO LEAVE OUT FOR NOW AND WILL AMD AS TRENDS AND
NEW DATA BECOME AVAILABLE.

ADDITIONALLY, AN ONCOMING SURFACE TROUGH WILL TURN WINDS AROUND TO A
MORE WESTERLY DIRECTION THROUGHOUT MORNING AND AFTERNOON ON
THURSDAY. THIS MAY RESULT IN LLWS AT CENTRAL KS SITES, SO
MENTIONED THIS THROUGH ~18Z AT RSL, SLN, AND HUT.

ICT WATCHES/WARNINGS/ADVISORIES
