A CLIPPER SYSTEM MOVING OUT OF THE NORTHERN ROCKIES AND INTO THE
PLAINS WILL DRIVE ANOTHER COLD FRONT SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE AREA
TODAY. ROBUST H85 CAA IS PROGGED TO BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON AND PERSIST
THROUGH THURSDAY. SEASONABLY COOL TEMPERATURES ARE ANTICIPATED TODAY
WHILE COLDER AIR WILL ARRIVE ACROSS THE AREA ON THURSDAY. MANY
LOCATIONS MAY STRUGGLE TO CLIMB OUT OF THE 20S FOR HIGHS ON
THURSDAY. A FEW FLURRIES MAY BE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHERN KANSAS
THROUGH TONIGHT BUT DRY WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS OUR
FORECAST AREA.

FRI...SHORTWAVE RIDGING WILL TRANSLATE EASTWARD OVER THE CENTRAL
PLAINS ON FRIDAY WITH LOW LEVEL SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS HELPING TO
BRING TEMPERATURES CLOSER TO AVERAGE FOR LATE JANUARY. SOME
LOCATIONS MAY CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 40S ALTHOUGH THOSE WITH
LINGERING SNOW COVER MAY STRUGGLE TO REACH 40.

SAT-TUE...ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS PROGGED TO SAG SOUTHWARD ACROSS THE
AREA ON SATURDAY. THOSE IN FAR SOUTHEAST KS MAY ESCAPE THE COLDER
AIR FOR ONE MORE DAY WITH HIGHS WARMING INTO THE UPPER 40S PRIOR TO
FROPA WHILE THOSE IN CENTRAL KS TOP OUT IN THE MID 30S FOR HIGHS.
THE NEXT SYSTEM HAS TRENDED FURTHER SOUTH LATE IN THE WEEKEND
KEEPING ANY MEANINGFUL PRECIPITATION SOUTH OF THE AREA. RISING
HEIGHTS/INCREASING THICKNESS AHEAD OF A VIGOROUS MID/UPPER TROUGH
OVER THE SOUTHWEST SHOULD ALLOW TEMPERATURES TO RETURN CLOSER TO
CLIMO FOR LATE JAN ON MON WHILE RISING INTO THE UPPER 40S AND LOW
50S AREAWIDE ON TUE.
