A STRENGTHENING LEE SURFACE TROUGH ACROSS EASTERN NEW MEXICO INTO  
SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO WILL RESULT IN INCREASING SOUTHWEST WINDS  
ACROSS THE FORECAST AREA TODAY WITH A BREEZY PERIOD FOR SEVERAL  
HOURS THIS AFTERNOON. LOW LEVEL WARM ADVECTION AND A BIT OF A  
DOWNSLOPE COMPONENT WILL ADD WARMTH RELATIVE TO YESTERDAY. A LITTLE  
MORE OF A BUMP IN TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY COME FROM COMPRESSIONAL  
WARMING AHEAD OF A COLD FRONT THAT WILL MOVE SOUTHWARD DOWN THE  
CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS THIS MORNING AND INTO THE PANHANDLE THIS  
AFTERNOON. NBM AND MOS HANDLE WELL WITH NO CHANGE FROM THE  
INITIALIZATION NEEDED. THE COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP QUICKLY SOUTHWARD  
THROUGH THE FORECAST THIS EVENING, EXITING THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF  
THE FORECAST AREA EARLY MORNING HOURS TONIGHT. SOME GUSTY NORTH  
WINDS ARE LIKELY TO DEVELOP BEHIND IT FOR MUCH OF THE NIGHT. AGAIN,  
NBM AND MOS ARE IN GOOD AGREEMENT WITH TEMPERATURES AND NO CHANGE  
FROM NBM FOR TONIGHT'S LOWS WILL BE MADE.  
 
 
   
LONG TERM  
 
(WEDNESDAY THROUGH MONDAY)  
ISSUED AT 200 AM CST TUE DEC 17 2024  
 
A COLD FRONT WILL HAVE PUSHED THROUGH THE REGION WEDNESDAY  
MORNING AS AN UPPER LEVEL TROUGH MOVES OVERHEAD. NORTHERLY WINDS  
BEHIND THE FRONT WILL BE BREEZY WITH GUSTS UP TO 25 TO 30 MPH ARE  
POSSIBLE. TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO DROP TO SEASONAL NORMALS POST  
FRONTAL WITH HIGHS IN THE 50S. TEMPERATURES WILL WARM UP TO THE  
60S AGAIN ON THURSDAY BEFORE ANOTHER SLIGHT COOL DOWN ON FRIDAY AS  
ANOTHER COLD FRONT IS PROGGED TO PUSH THROUGH THE AREA. QUIET  
WEATHER AND ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED THROUGH THE  
WEEKEND AND INTO EARLY NEXT WEEK AS AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE DEVELOPS  
TO THE WEST OF THE REGION ON SATURDAY AND ANOTHER SYSTEM ON  
TUESDAY.

OF KLBB AND KCDS LATER THIS MORNING AFTER 10Z. ALSO, A WIND SHIFT  
FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHWEST MAY OCCUR AROUND THE END OF THE
