A CHILLY START TO THE DAY AS MOST AREAS WILL BE SETTLING INTO THE  
30S. A FREEZE WARNING IS IN PLACE FOR THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN  
PORTIONS OF LEA COUNTY AS WELL AS THE NORTHWESTERN PERMIAN BASIN.  
LOWS IN THAT AREA WILL MAKE IT TO AROUND 30-32F THIS MORNING AND  
SIGNIFY THE FIRST FREEZE OF THE SEASON. HIGHS WILL REACH INTO THE  
MID TO UPPER 50S FOR THE SAME LOCATIONS INCLUDED IN THE FREEZE  
WARNING WITH 60S AND ABOVE FOR AREAS SOUTH OF I-20. THE REST OF THE  
SHORT TERM FORECAST IS COOL AND QUIET. MORNING LOWS ON THURSDAY MOVE  
UP A FEW DEGREES FROM THIS MORNING. HIGHS FOLLOW SUIT AS WINDS SHIFT  
SOUTHERLY AND HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN. PRECIPITATION IS NOT EXPECTED.

A WEAK COLD FRONT MOVES INTO THE AREA THURSDAY EVENING HOLDING  
TEMPERATURES STEADY AND NEAR NORMAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.  
AFTERWARD, MODELS SHOW A ZONAL (WESTERLY) UPPER FLOW PATTERN THAT  
SENDS TEMPERATURES BACK ABOVE NORMAL FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE  
FORECAST PERIOD. THIS WEEKEND WILL BE 5 TO 10 DEGREES ABOVE NORMAL  
AND DRY WHICH SHOULD BE FAVORABLE FOR OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. ANOTHER  
WEAK COLD FRONT IS POSSIBLE NEXT TUESDAY THAT COULD BRING  
TEMPS BACK DOWN CLOSER TO NORMAL.
