SHORT TERM

(TODAY THROUGH MONDAY AFTERNOON)
ISSUED AT 129 AM CST SUN DEC 15 2024

ANOTHER MILD MORNING IS EXPECTED AS MOIST, SOUTHERLY RETURN FLOW
LIMITS OVERNIGHT COOLING. MANY LOCATIONS REMAIN IN THE 40S WITH ONLY
A FEW LOCATIONS FALLING BACK INTO THE 30S. WITH THIS INCREASED
MOISTURE, THE SOUTHEASTERN PERMIAN BASIN MAY SEE PATCHY FOG AND LOW
CLOUDS AROUND SUNRISE THIS MORNING BEFORE IT QUICKLY BURNS OFF THIS
AFTERNOON. ANOTHER WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM MOVES THROUGH THE CENTRAL
GREAT PLAINS THIS AFTERNOON. THIS WEATHER SYSTEM AIDS IN CREATING A
ANOTHER WARM AFTERNOON AS SOUTHERLY AND SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS AND
MOSTLY SUNNY SKIES PUSH MUCH OF THE REGION 10 TO 15 DEGREES ABOVE
NORMAL INTO THE 70S. SOUTHERLY WINDS CONTINUE INTO MONDAY MORNING
RESULTING IN ANOTHER MILD MORNING WITH MANY LOCATIONS STARTING IN
THE UPPER 30S AND 40S. FAR EASTERN PORTIONS OF THE AREA CAN EXPECT
TO SEE TEMPERATURES REMAIN IN THE 50S THROUGH THE MORNING HOURS. AS
THE PREVIOUSLY MENTION WEATHER SYSTEM CONTINUES OFF TO THE EAST, A
WEAK COLD FRONT SAGS SOUTH THROUGH THE REGION DURING MONDAY
AFTERNOON. WHILE COOLER TEMPERATURES ARE GOING TO MOVE INTO THE
REGION, EVERYONE REMAINS ABOVE NORMAL THROUGH THE AFTERNOON.
WIDESPREAD TEMPERATURES IN THE 60S AND EVEN 70S REMAIN ACROSS THE
REGION TO START THE NEW WORK WEEK.

LONG TERM

(MONDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY)
ISSUED AT 129 AM CST SUN DEC 15 2024

THE LONG TERM PERIOD BEGINS WITH YET ANOTHER WEAK WEATHER SYSTEM
MOVING INTO THE CENTRAL GREAT PLAINS. THIS WEATHER SYSTEM QUICKLY
CAUSES THE RETURN OF SOUTHERLY WINDS AFTER MONDAY'S COLD FRONT. THIS
RESULTS IN A MILD MORNING WITH MOST REMAINING IN THE MIDDLE 30S TO
40S TO START THE DAY ON TUESDAY. TEMPERATURES DURING TUESDAY
AFTERNOON WARM UP SLIGHTLY COMPARED TO MONDAY INTO THE UPPER 60S TO
LOWER 70S. ONE MORE MILD MORNING WITH WIDESPREAD 40S IS ANTICIPATED
ON WEDNESDAY MORNING. AS THE PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED WEAK WEATHER
SYSTEM CONTINUES OFF TO THE EAST, ANOTHER COLD FRONT SAGS SOUTH
THROUGH THE REGION DURING THE AFTERNOON ON WEDNESDAY. THIS FRONT
PUSHES TEMPERATURES BACK BELOW NORMAL BY A FEW DEGREES INTO THE
UPPER 50S AND LOWER 60S. BELOW FREEZING TEMPERATURES MAY BRIEFLY
MAKE A RETURN THURSDAY MORNING BEFORE A GRADUAL WARMING TREND
CONTINUES THROUGH THE END OF THE WORK WEEK INTO NEXT WEEKEND. EXPECT
BOTH HIGH AND LOW TEMPERATURES TO CLIMB A COUPLE DEGREES EACH DAY
THROUGH THE END OF THE PERIOD. OUTSIDE OF THESE TEMPERATURES, PLENTY
OF SUNSHINE AND DRY CONDITIONS ARE ANTICIPATED.
