DISCUSSION

(THIS EVENING THROUGH NEXT MONDAY)
ISSUED AT 255 PM CST TUE NOV 19 2024

SKIES ARE SUNNY ACROSS MUCH OF THE MID-SOUTH THIS AFTERNOON WITH
TEMPERATURES IN THE MID 60S TO MID 70S. A COLD FRONT IS CURRENTLY
ACROSS WESTERN ARKANSAS AND INTO NORTH TEXAS.

THIS COLD FRONT WILL CONTINUE TO PUSH EAST TONIGHT REACHING THE
MISSISSIPPI RIVER AROUND MIDNIGHT. RAIN IS NOT EXPECTED TO DEVELOP
AHEAD OF THE FRONT. COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL BE FOUND BEHIND THE
FRONT. TEMPERATURES WILL REMAIN ABOVE NORMAL TONIGHT WITH LOWS
WEDNESDAY MORNING IN THE UPPER 40S TO LOWER 50S. THE COLD FRONT
SHOULD CLEAR THE MID-SOUTH WEDNESDAY MORNING WITH MUCH COOLER AIR
SPREADING ACROSS THE REGION. TEMPERATURES WILL BE BELOW NORMAL ON
WEDNESDAY WITH HIGHS IN THE UPPER 50S TO LOWER 60S.

HIGH PRESSURE WILL REMAIN IN CONTROL FROM WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
SATURDAY. AS A RESULT, DRY WEATHER AND BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES
WILL CONTINUE DURING THE PERIOD. SOME LOCATIONS ACROSS WEST
TENNESSEE AND NORTH MISSISSIPPI COULD SEE LOW TEMPERATURES NEAR
FREEZING FOR FRIDAY MORNING AND SATURDAY MORNING.

WINDS WILL BECOME MORE SOUTHERLY BY SATURDAY NIGHT BRINGING A
RETURN OF WARMER AIR TO THE REGION. TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN TO
ABOVE NORMAL READINGS FOR SUNDAY AND MONDAY. AN APPROACHING COLD
FRONT MAY BRING SOME SCATTERED SHOWERS TO THE REGION FOR SUNDAY
NIGHT AND MONDAY.

AVIATION

(00Z TAFS)
ISSUED AT 532 PM CST TUE NOV 19 2024

SKIES HAVE CLEARED OUT MORE DRASTICALLY THAN ANTICIPATED BEHIND
THE INITIAL COLD FRONT, SO MUCH SO THAT THE REINFORCING FRONT
OVERNIGHT NOW LOOKS TO HAVE LITTLE TO NO CLOUD COVER ASSOCIATED
WITH IT. THE MAIN IMPACT WILL BE GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS UP TO 25
KTS AS THE SECONDARY FRONT TIGHTENS THE GRADIENT OVERNIGHT. VFR
EXPECTED FOR ALL SITES, BARRING SOME LOCALIZED HAZE IN EASTERN AR
FROM AGRICULTURAL BURNING THAT MAY TEMPORARILY REDUCE JBR'S
VISIBILITY.
