ISSUED AT 532 AM CST WED DEC 18 2024

MOSTLY MVFR CEILINGS HAVE DEVELOPED ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING
LIMITING FOG POTENTIAL. SOME PATCHY FOG WHERE THE CLOUD DECK HAS
TEMPORARILY CLEARED IS POSSIBLE LEADING TO IFR VISBYS; HOWEVER,
THOSE RESTRICTIONS WILL BE RELATIVELY SHORT LIVED. LIGHT WINDS
WILL GRADUALLY BECOME SOUTHWESTERLY TODAY AS CEILINGS RISE TO VFR
BY THE AFTERNOON. A COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH THE AREA TONIGHT
LEADING TO LIGHT NORTHWESTERLY WINDS AS IFR CEILINGS MOVE IN FROM
THE NORTHWEST BEHIND THE FRONT AFTER MIDNIGHT. BB/03

NEAR TERM

(NOW THROUGH WEDNESDAY NIGHT)
ISSUED AT 532 AM CST WED DEC 18 2024

CLOUDS THIS MORNING APPEAR TO BE PUTTING A STOP TO FOG AND MOST OF
THE AREA WILL PROBABLY NOT SEE DENSE FOG THIS MORNING. THE MAIN
TALK TODAY WILL BE THE COLD FRONT THAT WILL PUSH THROUGH THE AREA
THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING. A RATHER DEEP TROUGH WILL PROGRESS
ACROSS THE AREA TODAY. AHEAD OF THE TROUGH, DEEP SOUTHWESTERLY
FLOW WILL ALLOW FOR INCREASING CLOUDS AND MOISTURE. AS THE TROUGH
MOVES ACROSS THE AREA BY LATE THIS AFTERNOON AND INTO THE
OVERNIGHT HOURS, IT WILL DRAG A COLD FRONT ACROSS THE AREA. WHILE
MOISTURE WILL BE IN PLACE, OVERALL FORCING WILL BE ANAFRONTAL IN
NATURE AND LIFTING OUT OF THE AREA LEADING TO A WEAKENING LINE OF
SHOWERS ALONG AND JUST BEHIND THE FRONT. MOST OF THE AREA WILL
LIKELY NOT SEE RAIN WITH THE BEST CHANCES MAINLY ALONG AND NORTH
OF HIGHWAY 84. A FEW ISOLATED SHOWERS MAY BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE
WESTERN FLORIDA PANHANDLE AHEAD OF THE FRONT BUT THEY SHOULD
REMAIN LIGHT AND TRANSIENT. TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY BE THE BIG
THING AS HIGHS WILL ONCE AGAIN CLIMB INTO THE UPPER 70S. DEEPENING
ON CLOUD COVER THIS AFTERNOON WE WILL LIKELY FLIRT WITH YET
ANOTHER ROUND OF RECORD HIGH TEMPERATURES.

BEHIND THE FRONT, COOLER AND DRIER AIR WILL MOVE IN ON THURSDAY.
CLEAR SKIES AND A NORTH WIND WILL ALLOW FOR A RATHER COMFORTABLE
DAY ON THURSDAY BEFORE THE REAL COLD ARRIVES THURSDAY NIGHT AND
LOWS DROP BACK INTO THE 30S. BB/03
