A LACK OF SUBSTANTIAL OVERLAP OF BREEZY WINDS AND DRY CONDITIONS  
WILL LIMIT THE OVERALL FIRE WEATHER THREAT ACROSS THE CONTIGUOUS  
U.S. TODAY. BRIEF INSTANCES OF ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE  
POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN NV AND UT WHERE SOUTHWEST WINDS  
OF UP TO 15 MPH AND RELATIVE HUMIDITY DOWN TO 20% ALIGN, BUT  
PRESENCE OF RECEPTIVE FUELS FOR WILDFIRE SPREAD ARE LARGELY ABSENT.  
FUELS ARE DRIER ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE NORTHERN PLAINS AND THE HIGH  
PLAINS OF MT ALTHOUGH DAYTIME RELATIVE HUMIDITY BELOW 25% WILL  
REMAIN SPARSE IN COVERAGE ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS, LIMITING  
OVERALL FIRE WEATHER THREAT. SEE PREVIOUS FORECAST BELOW FOR FURTHER

..SYNOPSIS
 
 
FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS ARE EXPECTED TO BE LIMITED FOR TODAY ACROSS  
THE COUNTRY. 06Z SURFACE OBSERVATIONS SHOW A SURFACE TROUGH DRAPED  
FROM EASTERN MT INTO THE CENTRAL HIGH PLAINS. THIS FEATURE IS  
EXPECTED TO MIGRATE EAST THROUGH THE DAY, REACHING THE CENTRAL  
DAKOTAS BY PEAK HEATING. MODEST DIURNAL HEATING/MIXING WILL SUPPORT  
AN UPTICK IN WINDS THROUGH LATE AFTERNOON, BUT AN OVERALL WEAKENING  
OF THE SURFACE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL LIKELY YIELD WEAKER WINDS  
COMPARED TO YESTERDAY. ADDITIONALLY, CONTINUED NORTHWARD MOISTURE  
RETURN AND SCATTERED CLOUD COVER SHOULD LIMIT DIURNAL RH REDUCTIONS.  
HOWEVER, ISOLATED ELEVATED CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP ACROSS THE  
NORTHERN PLAINS WHERE SUFFICIENT HEATING CAN OCCUR. FURTHER WEST,  
TRANSIENT ELEVATED WIND/RH CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP ACROSS SOUTHERN NV  
AND SOUTHWEST UT WITHIN A STRENGTHENING SOUTHERLY FLOW REGIME;  
HOWEVER, RECENT RAINFALL AND UNSUPPORTIVE FUEL STATUS SHOULD  
MITIGATE FIRE CONCERNS.
