PRIMARY CHANGE FOR THIS UPDATE INCLUDES AN EASTWARD EXPANSION OF  
ELEVATED HIGHLIGHTS INTO BORDERING AREAS OF NE/SD. CURRENT SURFACE  
OBSERVATIONS ACROSS EASTERN WY INTO FAR WESTERN NE/SD REFLECT  
ENHANCED DOWNSLOPE DRYING WITH RH ALREADY FALLING INTO THE 20-25%  
RANGE. FURTHER BOUNDARY LAYER DRYING AND MIXING THROUGH THIS  
AFTERNOON WILL RESULT IN MINIMUM RH VALUES BELOW 10% IN SOME  
LOCATIONS. WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL BE BOLSTERED BY A SURFACE  
LOW ACROSS THE NORTHERN PLAINS REACHING SPEEDS OF 15-20 MPH BY  
MID-AFTERNOON. THESE WINDS COMBINED WITH LOW RH WILL SUPPORT  
ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ACROSS MUCH OF EASTERN WY, FAR  
WESTERN NE/SD AND PARTS OF SOUTHERN MT FOR SEVERAL HOURS THIS  
AFTERNOON.

..SYNOPSIS
 
 
A CORRIDOR OF SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW BETWEEN THE MID-LEVEL TROUGH OVER  
THE NORTHWEST AND THE CENTRAL US RIDGE WILL CONTINUE TO PRESENT AN  
AREA OF GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RHS TO MT/WY AND PORTIONS OF THE GREAT  
BASIN TODAY. ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS REMAIN FARTHER NORTHEAST  
ALONG THE AXIS OF DRY SOUTHWEST FLOW OVER CENTRAL WY WITH DRY BUT  
GENERALLY SLIGHTLY LESS WINDY CONDITIONS PRESENT OVER ADJACENT  
PORTIONS OF MT, NE, AND SD AS WELL. DEEP AND DRY SOUTHWESTERLY FLOW  
AMID LEE SURFACE TROUGHING WILL CONTINUE TO SUPPORT SURFACE WINDS OF  
15-20 MPH COINCIDENT WITH DAYTIME RHS OF 10-20%. SIMILARLY,  
SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 15-25 MPH AMID RHS DROPPING AS LOW AS 10-15% ARE  
LIKELY ACROSS SOUTHEASTERN NV INTO SOUTHWESTERN UT THIS AFTERNOON.  
HOWEVER, RELATIVELY DAMP FUELS WILL MITIGATE AN OTHERWISE CRITICAL  
FIRE WEATHER EVENT ACROSS THAT REGION, RESULTING IN POTENTIALLY  
LOCALIZED ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS THIS AFTERNOON.
