...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED FOR THE SOUTHERN  
PLAINS OF PUERTO RICO...  
 
A DRY AND DUSTY AIR MASS WILL CONTINUE OVER THE ISLANDS TODAY.  
MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES ARE FORECAST TO DROP AROUND THE  
LOW 50S AND WINDS ARE EXPECTED AROUND 15 MPH WITH HIGHER GUSTS  
THIS AFTERNOON. IN ADDITION, KBDI VALUES CONTINUE TO BE OVER 700  
ALONG THE SOUTHERN PLAINS. AS A RESULT, ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER  
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THESE AREAS.  
 
FIRE AND EMERGENCY OFFICIALS SHOULD BE AWARE THAT WEATHER  
CONDITIONS ARE BECOMING MORE CONDUCIVE FOR THE IGNITION AND  
SPREAD OF WILD FIRES.  
 
FIRE DANGER STATEMENTS ARE ISSUED WHEN FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS  
ARE APPROACHING, BUT NOT MEETING OR EXCEEDING, RED FLAG WARNING  
CRITERIA.
