...STRONG WINDS MAY LEAD TO BLOWING SNOW AND ICY ROADS THIS
AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT...

SOUTH WINDS GUSTING TO 40 MPH OR GREATER ARE CREATING AREAS OF
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW ACROSS PORTIONS OF WEST CENTRAL
MINNESOTA AND SOUTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA. THIS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH
EARLY IN THE EVENING, WHEN WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO START TO WEAKEN.
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW IS MAINLY AFFECTING WEST TO EAST
ORIENTED ROADS AND WILL CAUSE REDUCED VISIBILITY, DOWN TO A MILE
OR LESS AT TIMES.

ABUNDANT SUNSHINE MAY HEAT PAVEMENT ENOUGH TO MELT THE DRIFTING
SNOW, WHICH COULD THEN QUICKLY REFREEZE AND DEVELOP SLICK SPOTS
ON ROADS WHERE AIR TEMPERATURES ARE BELOW FREEZING.
