SOUTH TEXAS THIS AFTERNOON...  
 
A COLD FRONT ARRIVES THIS MORNING WITH GUSTY NORTHERLY WINDS  
INTO THIS AFTERNOON. THE COMBINATION OF CURED AND CRITICALLY DRY  
TO DRY FUELS WITH 20 FOOT WINDS AT 15 TO 20 MPH, GUSTING HIGHER  
ATR TIMES, WILL LEAD TO AN INCREASED THREAT FOR WILDFIRE GROWTH  
AND SPREAD, ESPECIALLY ACROSS ZAPATA, STARR, JIM HOGG, AND HIDALGO  
COUNTIES.  
 
RELATIVE HUMIDITY VALUES WILL DROP TO BETWEEN 15 AND 20 PERCENT  
ALONG AND WEST OF I69C, AND BETWEEN 20 AND 30 PERCENT BETWEEN  
I69C AND EASTERN INLAND PORTIONS OF KENEDY, WILLACY, AND CAMERON  
COUNTIES. CURED AND CRITICALLY DRY TO DRY FUELS IN THESE AREAS  
WILL CONTRIBUTE TO AN ENHANCED THREAT OF WILDFIRE GROWTH MAINLY  
FROM 10 AM THIS MORNING THROUGH 5 PM TODAY ACROSS INLAND DEEP  
SOUTH TEXAS.  
 
BURN BANS REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR ZAPATA, JIM HOGG, STARR, AND  
WILLACY COUNTIES. RESIDENTS SHOULD EXERCISE CARE WITH RESPECT TO  
ALL OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES THAT COULD INADVERTENTLY CAUSE WILDFIRES.  
AVOID THE USE OF WELDING OR GRINDING EQUIPMENT NEAR DRY GRASS AND  
BRUSH. AVOID PARKING VEHICLES IN TALL, DRY GRASS AND WEEDS THAT  
COULD BE IGNITED BY YOUR VEHICLE'S EXHAUST SYSTEM. DO NOT TOSS  
CIGARETTE BUTTS ON THE GROUND. BE SURE TO REPORT WILDFIRES QUICKLY  
TO THE NEAREST FIRE DEPARTMENT OR LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICE.
