OUTLOOK (DAYS 3-5)

COOL AND WET CONDITIONS WILL PERSIST THROUGH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT AS A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE PERSISTS ALONG THE
TEXAS COAST. THIS WILL ALSO RESULT IN ELEVATED TIDE LEVELS WITH
WATER REACHING THE DUNES DURING HIGH TIDE EACH DAY THROUGH
WEDNESDAY NIGHT. RAIN CHANCES WILL END ON THURSDAY AS LOW PRESSURE
MOVES AWAY FROM THE AREA AND HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES INTO SOUTH
TEXAS.

* A MODERATE RISK OF RIP CURRENTS MEANS WIND AND/OR WAVE CONDITIONS
SUPPORT STRONGER AND/OR MORE FREQUENT RIP CURRENTS. RESEARCH HAS
SHOWN RIP CURRENTS ARE TYPICALLY MORE FREQUENT AND STRONGER IN THE
VICINITY OF JETTIES, INLETS, AND PIERS.

* SWIM NEAR A LIFEGUARD. IF CAUGHT IN A RIP CURRENT, REMAIN CALM.
DON'T FIGHT THE CURRENT. SWIM IN A DIRECTION FOLLOWING THE
SHORELINE. IF UNABLE TO ESCAPE, FACE THE SHORE AND CALL OR
WAVE FOR HELP. IF TIRED, FLOAT OR TREAD WATER UNTIL OUT OF
THE RIP CURRENT.

* WAVE HEIGHT AND PERIOD FORECASTS ARE REPRESENTATIVE OF DEEP OCEAN
WAVES OVER THE OFFSHORE WATERS, NOT SURF CONDITIONS.
