..FIRST STRONG COLD FRONT TO MOVE THROUGH WATERS MONDAY

THE FIRST MAJOR COLD FRONT OF THE COOL SEASON WILL MOVE THROUGH
THE MIDDLE SOUTH TEXAS WATERS ON MONDAY, BRINGING SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ALONG WITH STRONG OFFSHORE WINDS AND HIGHER SEAS.
THE COLD FRONT WILL ENTER THE WATERS AROUND SUNRISE MONDAY
MORNING, AND PUSH THROUGH THE WATERS BY EARLY AFTERNOON.

THE FRONT WILL CERTAINLY BRING SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS TO
THE MIDDLE TEXAS COASTAL WATERS, AS WINDS SHIFT TO THE NORTH AND
INCREASE TO 20 TO 25 KNOTS BEHIND THE FRONT. SEAS WILL BUILD TO 6
TO 8 FEET WITH OCCASIONAL HIGHER WAVES. A FEW GUSTS TO GALE FORCE
CAN ALSO BE EXPECTED, MAINLY OVER THE GULF WATERS AROUND AND A
COUPLE OF HOURS AFTER FRONTAL PASSAGE.

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED NEAR, ALONG AND BEHIND THE
BOUNDARY. A FEW STRONG STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE, AND A SPECIAL
MARINE WARNING MAY BE REQUIRED FOR THE STORMS AND OR FRONTAL
PASSAGE. ONCE THE FRONT MOVES THROUGH, THUNDERSTORMS WILL BE LESS
FREQUENT, ALTHOUGH PERIODS OF RAIN ARE EXPECTED FOR PORTIONS OF
THE DAY.

MARINERS SHOULD PREPARE AND PLAN AHEAD FOR THE STRONG COLD FRONT
AND SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS WITH IT ON MONDAY. KEEP YOUR EYE TO
THE SKY AND BE READY TO MOVE INTO PORT IF STORMS APPROACH YOUR
AREA. SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY CONDITIONS WILL MAKE FOR HAZARDOUS
BOATING BEHIND THE FRONT, SO MARINERS IN SMALL CRAFT ARE URGED TO
STAY IN PORT UNTIL BETTER CONDITIONS RETURN TO THE WATERS.

MARINERS SHOULD MONITOR NOAA WEATHER RADIO FOR THE LATEST
INFORMATION...FORECASTS...AND WARNINGS.
