FORCE BASE, DOPPLER WEATHER RADAR, KDYX, WILL BE DOWN FOR  
APPROXIMATELY 8 DAYS, FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE AIR CONDITIONING  
SYSTEM. YOUR NOAA, NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE OFFICE, IN SAN  
ANGELO, TEXAS, OPERATES THIS WEATHER RADAR. INSTALLING THIS NEW  
EQUIPMENT IS CRITICAL TO THE CONTINUED OPERATION OF THIS VITAL  
NATIONAL ASSET.  
 
DURING THE DOWNTIME, ADJACENT RADARS INCLUDE: IN TEXAS: SAN  
ANGELO, MIDLAND, LUBBOCK, FORT WORTH, OR IN OKLAHOMA: FREDERICK.

THE DYESS AIR FORCE BASE WEATHER RADAR, KDYX, IS PART OF A  
NETWORK OF 159 OPERATIONAL RADARS. THE RADAR OPERATIONS CENTER,  
IN NORMAN, OKLAHOMA, PROVIDES LIFECYCLE MANAGEMENT AND SUPPORT  
FOR ALL THESE WEATHER RADARS.
