NORTHERN NEW YORK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
532 AM EDT SAT MAR 28 2020

..DRY TODAY WITH WIDESPREAD PRECIPITATION SUNDAY AND MONDAY

DISCUSSION

ONE MORE DAY OF DRY WEATHER IS EXPECTED FOR NORTHERN NEW YORK AND
VERMONT AS HIGH PRESSURE EXISTS ACROSS THE REGION. THE AIR MASS IS
DRY AND WITH TEMPERATURES A FEW DEGREES WARMER THAN YESTERDAY WE
WILL SEE AFTERNOON MINIMUM RELATIVE HUMIDITIES LOWER INTO THE 25
TO 35 PERCENT RANGE. A GOOD DEAL OF SUNSHINE IS EXPECTED WITH ONLY
HIGH LEVEL CLOUDS MOVING IN AND THUS IT WILL BE A GOOD DRY FOR THE
1 AND 10 HOUR FUELS TO DRY OUT. AS MENTIONED EARLIER WITH HIGH
PRESSURE OVER THE AREA WINDS WILL GENERALLY BE LIGHT AND VARIABLE.
THE PATTERN CHANGES TONIGHT AS A WARM FRONT MOVES INTO THE REGION
DURING THE OVERNIGHT HOURS TO ENHANCE PRECIPITATION CHANCES AND
THEN A LARGE UPPER LEVEL LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL MOVE SLOWLY
ACROSS OUR REGION SUNDAY INTO MONDAY. RAINFALL WILL BE WIDESPREAD
DURING THIS TIME PERIOD WITH TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN THE THREE
QUARTER TO ONE AND A QUARTER INCH RANGE. HIGH HUMIDITIES WILL ALSO
EXIST AND DESPITE GUSTY WINDS NO CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS
ARE EXPECTED SUNDAY INTO MONDAY.
