THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SHREVEPORT HAS ISSUED A HEAT  
ADVISORY, WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON TODAY TO 7 PM CDT THIS  
EVENING.  
 
* EVENT...HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT, HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH RELATIVE  
HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL RESULT IN HEAT INDEX VALUES RISING TO  
BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES.  
 
* TIMING...HEAT INDICES WILL BEGIN TO APPROACH 105 DEGREES BY  
LATE MORNING AND WILL REMAIN HIGH THROUGH AT LEAST 7 PM THIS  
EVENING.  
 
* IMPACT...HEAT RELATED ILLNESSES WILL BE POSSIBLE FOR THOSE  
INVOLVED IN OUTDOOR ACTIVITY AND HOME-BOUND PERSONS WITHOUT  
AIR CONDITIONING OR CIRCULATING AIR.  
 
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...  
 
TAKE EXTRA PRECAUTIONS IF YOU WORK OR SPEND TIME OUTSIDE. WHEN  
POSSIBLE, RESCHEDULE STRENUOUS ACTIVITIES TO EARLY MORNING OR  
EVENING. KNOW THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF HEAT EXHAUSTION AND HEAT

WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE  
POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS, STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM,
