FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR EXTREME SOUTHEAST ARKANSAS,
NORTHEAST LOUISIANA, AND CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE JACKSON MS
350 PM CDT FRI MAY 25 2018

DISCUSSION

DIURNALLY DRIVEN THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY CAN BE
EXPECTED THROUGH THE WEEKEND AND PATCHY LIGHT MORNING FOG WILL BE
POSSIBLE IN THE AREAS THAT RECEIVE SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL.
OTHERWISE, WARMER THAN NORMAL TEMPERATURES WILL CONTINUE THIS
WEEKEND. TROPICAL STORM ALBERTO LOOKS TO BEGIN AFFECTING THE
SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF OUR AREA SUNDAY. THE EXACT TRACK, STRENGTH
AND SPEED OF THE SYSTEM WILL DETERMINE THE FORECAST FOR THE START
OF NEXT WEEK BUT VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OF 4 TO 7 INCHES AND TROPICAL
STORM FORCE WINDS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVER THE SOUTHEAST DISTRICT
MONDAY THROUGH TUESDAY BEFORE SHIFTING EAST WEDNESDAY. LOW RAIN
CHANCES ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE ARE POSSIBLE
OVER THE NORTHEAST THURSDAY BUT WARMER AND DRIER CONDITIONS ARE
EXPECTED OVER MOST LOCATIONS THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.
