OVERVIEW
 
A DUSTY AND HIGHLY VISIBLE TORNADO FORMED SOUTH OF  
DEPUE, ILLINOIS FRIDAY EVENING, RESULTING IN MINOR DAMAGE AS IT  
TRACKED SLOWLY THROUGH PUTNAM COUNTY. ADDITIONAL MINOR DAMAGE  
REPORTS FROM EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AS WELL AS REVIEW OF NEW  
TRAINED SPOTTER VIDEOS AND PHOTOS HAVE RESULTED IN AN EXTENSION  
OF THE INITIAL PATH WITH A SLIGHT INCREASE IN ESTIMATED PEAK  
WIND SPEEDS.

SURVEY SUMMARY:  
A SLOW MOVING EF0 TORNADO, WITH PEAK WINDS OF 80 MPH, DEVELOPED  
ALONG THE SOUTHERN BANKS OF THE ILLINOIS RIVER AND MOVED TOWARDS THE  
EAST-SOUTHEAST. THE TORNADO CROSSED THROUGH A ROCK QUARRY WHERE IT  
TIPPED OVER A PORTION OF AN INDUSTRIAL CONVEYOR SYSTEM. THE TORNADO  
THEN TURNED MORE SOUTH-SOUTHEAST AND GRADUALLY WEAKENED, PRODUCING  
SPORADIC TREE DAMAGE ALONG AN INTERMITTENT PATH BEFORE COMPLETELY  
DISSIPATING NEAR ILLINOIS HIGHWAY 71.
