FORECAST ON TRACK AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE REGION AND
ALONG WITH CLEAR SKIES AND DIMINISHING WINDS WHICH WILL PROVIDE
FOR EXCELLENT RADIATIONAL COOLING CONDITIONS. HARD FREEZE
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED ACROSS ALL OF INLAND SE GA WITH LOWS IN
THE LOWER 20S AND ACROSS INLAND NE FL TO THE WEST OF JAX-GNV-OCF
WITH LOWS IN THE MIDDLE 20S. LIGHT FREEZE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED
ALONG THE I-95 CORRIDOR AND ST. JOHNS RIVER BASIN WITH LOWS IN THE
UPPER 20S, WITH SOME LOWER 30S ALL THE WAY TO THE ATLANTIC BEACHES.
AS WINDS BECOME NEAR CALM OVER INLAND AREAS AND NORTH LESS THAN 5
MPH ALONG THE ATLANTIC COAST EXPECT WIDESPREAD FROST AS WELL BY
SUNRISE SATURDAY MORNING. TEMPS REBOUND INTO THE 50S AREA-WIDE
UNDER SUNNY SKIES, WITH NEAR 60F VALUES ACROSS MARION/PUTNAM AND
FLAGLER COUNTIES, STILL WELL BELOW NORMAL, BUT THE MILDEST TEMPS
SINCE LAST WEEKEND. A NORTHEAST WIND DEVELOPING OFF THE ATLANTIC
AROUND 10 MPH WILL KEEP THE BEACHFRONT LOCATIONS RATHER CHILLY.

NEAR TERM...(THROUGH TONIGHT)

A WEAK REINFORCING COLD FRONT WILL PUSH INTO THE REGION TONIGHT
ALONG WITH A DRY, COLD NORTHWESTERLY FLOW ALOFT. HIGH CLOUDS
STREAMING ACROSS SE GA WILL LIFT OUT TONIGHT AND LIMITED COLUMN
MOISTURE WILL KEEP SKIES MOSTLY CLEAR THEREAFTER WITH SURFACE
RIDGING GRADUALLY SETTLES OVERHEAD.

AS AFTERNOON BREEZINESS SETTLES WITH THE RELAXING GRADIENTS,
TEMPERATURES WILL PLUMMET ONCE AGAIN TO SUBFREEZING LEVELS AFTER
SUNSET. WITHOUT MUCH, IF ANY, WIND AT PLAY THE "WIND CHILL" IMPACT
WILL BE MINIMAL; HOWEVER, AIR TEMPERATURES WILL PLUMMET WITH
EXCELLENT RADIATIONAL COOLING TONIGHT. BITTER COLD TEMPERATURES
ARE EXPECTED ACROSS THE SUWANNEE VALLEY AND SOUTHEAST GA WHERE
LOWS WILL FALL TO LOW/MID 20S TONIGHT WHILE THE REST OF NORTHEAST
FL FALLS TO THE UPPER 20S AND LOW 30S. GIVEN THE LITTLE WIND,
WIDESPREAD AREAS OF FROST ARE LIKELY ACROSS ALL AREAS INCLUDING
THE BEACH COMMUNITIES.

ALL THAT SAID, THERE IS A FREEZE WARNING IN EFFECT TONIGHT.
ANOTHER NIGHT OF DANGEROUSLY COLD TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED,
HOWEVER, APPARENT TEMPERATURE IS NOT QUITE AT COLD WEATHER
ADVISORY GIVEN THE LACK OF WIND. THIS MAY DESERVE ANOTHER LOOK
DURING THE EVENING UPDATE.

SHORT TERM
(SATURDAY THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT)

HIGH PRESSURE CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WEEKEND
RESULTING IN DRY WEATHER AND MOSTLY CLEAR SKIES, WITH CLOUD
DENSITY INCREASING ON SUNDAY AHEAD OF A FRONTAL BOUNDARY PRESSING
IN FROM OUT OF THE NORTHWEST. TEMPERATURES WILL GRADUALLY INCREASE
OVER THE COURSE OF THE WEEKEND WITH DAILY MAX TEMPS REACHING INTO
THE 50S AND 60S BY SUNDAY. OVERNIGHT LOW TEMPERATURES WILL DROP
DOWN INTO THE 20S AND 30S ON SATURDAY WITH MIN TEMPS RISING INTO
THE 30S AND LOWER 40S GOING INTO NEXT WEEK.

LONG TERM
(MONDAY THROUGH NEXT FRIDAY)

POTENTIAL FOR SHOWERS ON MONDAY OVER SOUTHEAST GEORGIA AS A FRONT
MOVES SOUTHEASTWARD FROM OUT OF THE NORTHWEST, FOLLOWED BY A
PERIOD OF DRIER WEATHER AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES ACROSS THE
FORECAST AREA THROUGH MIDWEEK. HIGH PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO RECEDE
BEFORE THE LATTER PART OF THE WEEK, WITH A MORE MOIST WESTERLY
FLOW BRINGING IN INCREASED CHANCES FOR SHOWERS THROUGHOUT THE
FORECAST AREA. THE WARMING TREND WILL CONTINUE ON INTO NEXT WEEK
WITH TEMPERATURES RISING TO BE WELL ABOVE THE SEASONAL AVERAGE BY
THURSDAY.

AVIATION

(06Z TAFS)
ISSUED AT 1210 AM EST SAT JAN 25 2025

PREVAILING VFR CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED THIS PERIOD. A FEW LOWER
STRATUS MAY MOVE OFF THE ATLANTIC AND AFFECT COASTAL TAF SITES LATE
IN THE PERIOD, BUT AT THIS TIME THE COVERAGE OF THESE CLOUDS LOOKS
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED.

MARINE

BREEZY NORTHERLY WINDS AND ELEVATED SEAS CONTINUE THROUGH AROUND
MIDNIGHT BEFORE GRADUALLY TAPERING OFF AND BECOMING LIGHT OVER THE
WEEKEND AS HIGH PRESSURE SETTLES OVER THE WATERS. VICINITY HIGH
PRESSURE WILL CONTINUE LIGHT WINDS AND LOW SEAS THROUGH AT LEAST
THE MIDDLE PART OF NEXT WEEK.

RIP CURRENTS: LINGERING ELEVATED SURF HAS KEPT RIP CURRENT RISK HIGH
AT NE FL BEACHES TODAY. AS WINDS AND SURF LOWER, RISK WILL LOWER TO
MODERATE AT ALL AREA BEACHES.
