FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR SOUTHWEST ARKANSAS...
NORTHWEST LOUISIANA
..EAST TEXAS

AND EXTREME SOUTHEAST OKLAHOMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SHREVEPORT LA

DISCUSSION

A RATHER WEAK UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE PROGRESSING SOUTHEASTWARD
ACROSS NORTHWEST LOUISIANA LATE THIS AFTERNOON, HAS INTERACTED WITH
WITH A MOIST LOW LEVEL ATMOSPHERE RESULTING IN ISOLATED SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS NOTED ACROSS PORTIONS OF CENTRAL LA AND DEEP
EAST TEXAS. HOWEVER, THIS PRECIPITATION ACTIVITY WILL NOT RESULT
IN SIGNIFICANT WETTING RAINS. EXCELLENT RECOVERY IN RELATIVE
HUMIDITY ARE EXPECTED OVERNIGHT /90-100 PERCENT/ WHICH WILL GIVE
WAY TO BOUTS OF PATCHY FOG AND/OR LOW CLOUD COVER. DAYTIME
TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN 4-6 DEGREES ABOVE SEASONAL
AVERAGE TOMORROW AND AGAIN ON FRIDAY, THOUGH SOUTHERLY 20-FOOT
WINDS WILL MAINTAIN A MOIST LOW LEVEL ATMOSPHERIC PROFILE /PEAK
HEATING HUMIDITIES OF 40-55 PERCENT EXPECTED EACH AFTERNOON/.
ISOLATED SHOWERS MAY ONCE AGAIN BE POSSIBLE ACROSS PORTIONS OF
CENTRAL LA AND DEEP EAST TX EACH AFTERNOON, HOWEVER BENEFICIAL
RAINFALL IS NOT EXPECTED. ALTHOUGH ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES ARE
EXPECTED TO ENSUE, HUMIDITIES WILL REMAIN ABOVE CRITICAL
THRESHOLDS, COUPLED WITH 20-FOOT SOUTHERLY WIND SPEEDS OF 8 MPH OR
LESS WILL RESULT IN NIL FIRE WEATHER CONCERNS.

NOTE: IT HAS BEEN SEVERAL WEEKS SINCE BENEFICIAL WETTING RAINS HAS
AFFECTED THE FOUR-STATE REGION. ALTHOUGH THE LATEST UNITED STATES
DROUGHT MONITOR DEPICTS NO DROUGHT CONDITIONS OCCURRING ACROSS
THE REGION, THIS COULD CHANGE IN THE NEAR FUTURE IF DRY CONDITIONS
CONTINUE.
