DISCUSSION

GUSTY SW WINDS AGAIN TODAY WITH WARMER THAN AVERAGE TEMPS FOR MID
FEBRUARY. TODAY'S COLD FRONT WILL BE ALONG IN THE NEXT FEW HOURS
AND EARLY THIS EVENING, SHIFTING OUR WINDS TO W AND NW WITH SOME
GUSTINESS CONTINUING OVERNIGHT. AS HIGH PRESSURE MOVES INTO THE
REGION, WE WILL SEE THESE STRONG GUSTS ABATE EARLY ON FRIDAY
WHILE KEEPING THE NW DIRECTION GOING INTO SATURDAY. THEN THE
SURFACE WINDS WILL BACK TO W AND SW LATE IN THE DAY AS HIGH
PRESSURE MOVES OFFSHORE. HOWEVER, THE TRANSPORT WINDS WILL KEEP
NW'LY ALL WEEKEND.

AFTER SLIGHTLY COOLER TEMPS THIS WEEKEND, WE WILL RESUME WITH
ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPS THROUGH MIDWEEK WITH MORE SW WINDS BECOME
GUSTY. OUR NEXT COLD FRONT WILL BRING BACK SOME RAINFALL BY
MIDWEEK. MORE DETAILS ON THIS SPRING STORM IN THE COMING DAYS AND
THEN COOLER TEMPS TO END THE MONTH AND GET INTO MARCH. SO AFTER A
SUPER WET START TO THE YEAR, THIS MONTH WILL COME IN BELOW
AVERAGE ON RAINFALL AT MANY LOCALES WITH DROUGHT MONITORING BACK
IN ACTION.
